To be fair I have supported Rangers for over 30 years and for the majority of that time our average attendance has been around the 12k mark ...you also need a big away following to contribute ...2-3k away fans on Sat and you'd have been looking at a far better crowd 11.5-12k Rangers isn't bad for Scunthorpe home... I should think Scunthorpe home will be many teams lowest home attendance!

Cut the prices the crowds will come.
Its too expensive to watch Rangers week in week out. It does not matter how well we are doing, people dont have the cash. I have been going for over 30 years, it hard for me to raise the cash every week and i have to choose the matches i go along to watch.
Also I know loads of Rangers fans that cant be bothered to come and it will take alot more that 3 wins in a row to make up for the problems we have had over the last few years

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned about Wigan's attendance on Saturday. They played the Champions of England and only managed 14,476. Yes our attendances are low but I have no doubt that during the season we will get more through the turnstile than 14,476 through the gate to watch one of our games against much lower opposition than Chelsea.

I fully understand the recession issue and people picking and choosing, but wasn't Scunny less that £10 via the Sun offer......sounds reasonable, especially if people now waiting for offers like last years, instead of getting a S/T.
Middlesboro had an excuse of being on telly. Why should people pay to go if they can watch for free in the comfort of their own home (assuming they pay for Sky)
I think we're one of only 3 or 4 teams in Championship who's grounds hold less than 20k, so we're always going to be near the bottom of any attendance table. Donny ? Scunny ? Watford (unless they re-open the main stand ?)
That said 12k (if accurate) is still poor. If we can't get 15k when we're top of the table ????? Yet some will still call for a new 30k stadium.......

a) it's still far too expensive to attract floating supporters. You can get seats at Chelsea, Spurs and West Ham for about an extra fiver.
b) Season tickets too expensive - never recovered from the BP and GP hike 4 seasons ago. That's when they fell off the cliff and Ali Russell's divisive and social engineering scheme of Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze just alienated already ****ed off supporters even further.
c) It was Scunthorpe in the middle of the summer holidays.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

On an aside..
would you rather have 18,000 home fans at Fulham v Man U yesterday who were all plastic tourists coming to see Rooney and Berbatov, taking pictures of them with their cameraphones and then whipping out their PSPs when they got bored? It's funny how Fulham ALWAYS seem to have people in the home end, see the bloke who stood up when Scholes scored (sure there were many more too). I'd prefer to have 12,000 proper Rangers through and through. Maybe just me?
