Orr : At last a right back that gets down the line.As above, don't think at his best - but looks a very good signing.

Hill : He can head the ball he can tackle and positional wsie, gets in the right place. Not the quickest - but looks very solid.Thumbs up so far from me

Derry : As some one else has already pointed out - the leader on the picth without the armband.Again, settling in but looks just what we need.Links up wiell with the ver improving Faurlin

Mackie: Works his nuts off - thought he was ok Saturday and not at his best. But his commitment level is 100%.Thumbs up

Heider - Leaps like a salmon and although he missed couple of easy chances - works hard and scores.Think with a good run and help from another striker, will do well.
Adel : Not in your list - but would pay to watch him all day...but stop going down to easy.Refs will be watching

Overall - can't complain. All 5 have improved the team and that's all you can wish for rwally.

    spot on

we need to bump up some of the polls about where people thought we would finish pre sesason and the ones slagging off hill and derry and how shite people were saying they were.

I really Really really hate to say this.....but you have to be at Loftus Road( or away) to pass judgment on these two players espacially.

Even watching live on TV will not give you the 100% picture of how these two and in fact others play.

You can watch highlights and maybe they show one or two intances where maybe..Hill could get beaten.

At the game - off the ball, you can see Hill all the time talking to Hogan getting him back to mark his player.Somthing Hogan should know anyway.

Hill is much much better than Borrowdale Delaney Barker, but in truth, there are better Left backs out there in our Division. It just shows you how bad previous left backs were( Never saw Tosic at LR so cannot comment)

Derry too, does get caught in the middle - but it's early days and takes time to settle in.Both players are old experienced pros in this league and maybe that's just what we need. The talking off the ball is much much better than previous season.Something you will only see and appreciate at the game.

I am no saying for one moment that these two players are World beaters - but they are much better than players we have had...which goes to show how poor they actually were before.

I used too hate this when posters said these sort of comments - but the more games you go to the more you actually appreciate what players are actually doing, when they don't have the ball. The 1 minute highlights on BBC or the odd live game do not give you this insight.

I think my only concern is Mackie, he has a good engine and will give 100% (Reminds me of Ainsworth) but just don't think he has enough in his locker so to speak. Poor mans Routledge / Mcanuff.

Also Hill, has looked solid so far in fairness, but when he comes up against someone with pace, I think he will struggle.

You shouldn't have to hate yourself for stating something so true though Spencer. It is a fact that you can never ever get the same view of a game of football or an individual player's performance sat in an armchair that you can in the stadium. In fact, you can't even get the same perspective from certain areas of the ground - if, for example you sit behind the goal at pitch level, you will not be able to track player movement in the same way as you can from the side or higher up!

Your fear of course comes from offending those that don't agree with the view that you can't have an opinion if you didn't see the game.

Well my view is they can have an opinion if they really want, it just isn't a particularly well placed one, but everyone has the right to have their voice heard........in this faceless internet world of ours...........amen to that I guess

                Definately!!
I have held my hands up and admitted I was wrong re: Derry.
Though with the amount that was said; there was very little being said from people admitting mistake.
I mean you said before the Adel signing that I wouldnt recognise the team come 1st game; and we made 1 signing, not 5 as you predicted.

Others didnt want Taarabt at all, told him to do one as we were his last choice, none of them stood up and admitted they were wrong.

Very few on here with the nads to do it unfortunately.

Oh paul, dont forget our bet, you said Mackie and clarke would score more than Simpson and Adel did last season.

So you reckon Mackie will get 20 goals this year?

i said 5, we have signed 3 (orr, taraabt and mackie). there is 2 more coming before the boro game.
its just took a bit longer than any of us wanted, but what can you do when the manager is doing 14 hour days locked in an office to get who he wants and it still not happening. (and it has got nothing to do with money they aint either)

No problem, I will match the £20 you will be giving to the tiger cubs anyway.

We were going to pay the winnings well you were going to, but I have no problems making a donation too.
Though when you make bets in the future Paul, dont expect all to donate regardless of winning the bet like i am going to.
I hope you would do the same, had you won this bet!
