used to know Neill and his missus in the early eighties quite well (used to drink in the old Crown and Sceptre) remember how gutted he was when Rangers dropped him and if my memory serves me right he took up a position at Yeading football club - so lost contact but i'd guess he'd be a similar age to most of us ie 45 - 55 and the terrible truth is (as with poor Trevor Kingham) this awful 5h1te is waiting to pounce on all us - good luck Neill my thoughts are with you and your family - once an R's always an R's !
Neil - I don't know you personally, but I wish you a speedy recovery. Keep positive, keep believing and I hope that 3 points for the Rs on Friday night goes someway to making you feel much better.
Joe - How are you mate? Long time no see and all that. Hope to see you soon down Loftus Rd.
spoke to neil this afternoon.he was in good spirits.his voice hasnt changed 1 iota.he has the same great sense of humour that he had many years ago when i last saw him. What struck me talking to neil today was how brave and positive he is and what a great spirit he has.he is a real fighter this man.i am not ashamed to say i got choked up speaking to him and listening to this courageous man telling me of his illness and situation.hes still a QPR fanatic nothing changes there!!!!! loves QPR he does.We shared a few laughs about old times!!..Neil my thoughts are with you mate.take good care of yourself neil and i really hope to see you soon mate.

Hi Dale .... I also spoke to Neil this evening, his strength and courage in light of what's happening inside his body are way beyond any words I can come up with. Your bang on when you say about Neil being a QPR fanatic, he's old school, a real Loft Boy - He said to me ...."Joe, we'd walk through the turnstiles together, then leg it up the stairs to The Loft, turn right and lean on the crash barriers and start the songs off"! Something I'd forgotten, but remembered as soon as Neil said it to me.
He's asked about Rangers fans like Vic Stevenson, Alan Barnes, Simon Eales, Pat Harrison, Joe English and Steve Russell and he spoke very fondly about you Dale, and growing up with you.
Neils such a brave man, and so positive about his situation. He described it as a chel5hit fan who'd moved in next door - He said ..."I just ignore it and hope the f***er moves away". That made me laugh!
He told me, this week has been a bad one for him, but all the same he wants to get down Rangers on Friday for the Watford game, mainly because he's never seen us win a live game on the telly.
Dont know what else to say ..... I'm gutted for him.

Very sad news indeed! I wish you the best Neil! I got to know him in 1990 when I brought my High School team I coached over on tour! Neil was our liason with the club and we exchanged many faxes and phone calls setting everything up! He went out of his way for us at a particularily busy time for the club! He made sure our whole team got great tickets for the FA Cup QF vs Liverpool that I rave on and on about, organized a friendly for us against West London Schools, set up an official tour of the club and made sure my Father and I could have a drink in the Directors Lounge after the Liverpool match! The day of our official tour his wife gave birth and yet he still had made sure everything was in place for the visitors from Canada! A truly wonderful man and that makes the news that much harder to take!
Lovely to talk to you this evening Neil and chat about a lot of QPR memories and funny times .... like when you climbed up the lampost outside the Crown & Sceptre! Your strength and spirit is wonderful. So much admiration for you xx
