  • The next 3 matches.....the importance of remaining undefeated?

    Derby (A)
    Mc'Boro (H)
    Ipswich (A)

....will certainly provide a stiffer test than the first 3 matches. Whilst I expect us to lose our 100% record in these matches, how important is it to remain undefeated at this stage in the season to maintain a psychological advantage if anything over other promotion rivals.

Question: If you had a choice between taking 5 or 6 pts from the next 3 matches what would you choose. Would you prefer to remain undefeated or take a loss if it meant another 2 wins on the board?

    * lets keep it realistic 3 more wins whilst not impossible is unlikely to happen.

      a) We often get a result up at Derby -- scored 4 against them up there last season and the season before. After Robbie Savage's comment last season about having Adel in his pocket for the home game, I'd love nothing more than to see Adel give him the big almighty run-around -- and I think we will.
      b) Thought Boro were going to be a threat -- but they've been a bit of a damp squib so far. Rumours of a split in the dressing room might account for that. I'm not as worried about them as I thought I would be.
      c) Ipswich away -- this could be a tricky one. Would take a draw happily with this one.

Think being unbeaten would be better than losing one and winning two -- especially if we can keep clean sheets.

Can see us beating Derby & Boro but can see us struggle against Ipswich.

6 points from the next possible 9 would be outstanding.

I'd take 6 points over 5 nothing is more important than putting points on the board, and assuming we lost one of the first two games it would show we can lose a game and bounce straight back!

            Agree with most.

I watched Derby v coventry on sky sports and they look a very average side that lacks real quality. A fit Tarrabt should cause Savage problems.

I would be disappointed if we didn't win this game.

At home infront of 16k plus, which it will be if we beat derby I can see us winning against boro

The ipswich game won't be easy and I would take a draw.

7 points would be realistic and if we sign 2 new strikers for the middlesborough game, u never know as we could go to ipswich and beat them too. Exciting times, urrssss
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Sounds like we see these next three games very similarly.
Two wins and then a (very hard-to-get) point at Ipswich would be great -- if we can keep the momentum going through the international break.

Very hard places to get points.

I think one game at a time we have a great start good momentum, I am worried that nw has missed out on his main players and Roberts now may go Blackpool! But the board will back nw too I'm sure, looking at so many games ahead is dangerous

Would I rather take 6 points than 5?

I know our record at Derby has been impressive in the last couple of years, but that does not mean to take that game for granted.

Well I think this demonstrates why Managers keep going on about "taking one game at a time".
Because even if we win all three of these games it doesn't mean squat if we then lose 5 on the trot.
