vennables 82,83,84 teams were full of home grown talent but as the club moves forward it is important we develop talent every season.

We are in prime situation again to attract top youngsters one the academy is sorted.

We need to be producing kids like palarse.
Dean Parret, Raheem Sterling and Ray god rest his soul are the only decent players we produced in recent times, but stability at first team level will filter down the club.

What is the latest on the academy?
The likes of Parrett, Sterling, Jones and Liam O'Brien are easily as good, if not better, than any of the players Palace have produced. The problem we have is a) we needed to sell them and b) the management team at the time preferred to stuff the first team with agent friendly loan signings and poor quality players. Palace actually played and trusted their youngsters.

Our CoE is producing players just as talented as our Championship rivals and some Premier League Academies...

I watch a lot of Academy level football and our youth development is certainly not to be sniffed at. The facilities however for our guys ARE poor. No two ways about that.

Best home grown talent imo was Clive Allen... Allen and Goddard combo was top banana

December 8th 1979. Paul Goddard scores two goals in the 2-2 draw against Wrexham. This was to be Stan Bowles last game at Loftus Road before being sold to No...

IMO Goddard was the better player. His move to West Ham was the worst thing that could have happened to us and set us back years. Especially disappointing as he really didn't want to go.

Don't think you can really look past Gerry Francis as our best ever home grown player. England captain and without the dodgy back would've ended up at Liverpool winning European trophies.

The last home grown to really make an impact and play regulary was Richard Langley. I thought Donnelly looked useful was surprised when we let him go, Now at swansea. Antonio German looks like he`s gonna be really good, let`s see.

Macca, Gerry Francis, Gallen, Dave Clement. Les of course even though he came from Hayes 1st team.

                        Gerry Francis - no brainer.

But no one has mentioned Garry Waddock yet. He should be in any top five I'd think. Did a job.

Then fished them out and tried to pump the water out of them. A lot.

                                So I've heard.
