Stoke, West Brom target Walters resists QPR offer for Premiership move

Ipswich Town striker Jonathan Walters is resisting interest from QPR for a move to the Premiership.

The Daily Mail says QPR are prepared to pay £3million-plus for transfer-seeking Ipswich forward Walters.

But they are not guaranteed to clinch his capture because the Birkenhead-born player is looking to return north.

Another complication is that the ambitious Hoops cannot match Walters’ current deal, which still has two years to run.

Walters, 26, prefers the option of a move to Stoke City or West Bromwich Albion but the Premier League clubs’ offers fall way short of Ipswich’s £4m valuation.

The Tractor Boys insist he is going nowhere until they receive the right offer and the stalemate could yet rebound on the player.

Think you maybe right, otherwise why would we conduct a medical which I assume would be done AFTER agreeing terms with both player and club.

Interesting to see that both Stoke and WBA allegedly thought the player was too expensive at £3m - £4m.

Exactly... Still can't get my head around the figures being banded about for this guy so if he wants to go up north ta da... Much better out there imho. But if he comes great I trust NW so we will see.

NW rubbished claims that Kenny would be on 20k a week so you can't believe all that you read. Also no way we'd pay £3/4m up front not based on clauses etc

not peeing on the bonfire, but i hate these stories about players and their families not too keen to sign cos they want to go home. cos london is a hell hole for notherners if they aint that way inclined.
i would seriously like walters to be totally forgotten if there is any doubt in his or his tarts mind about living in the smoke when their heart is up with the black pudding and whippets.
we could come right unstuck here, cos you can bet your life if he does to us what hes done to keane, we wont be able to give him away cos no-one will want to touch him.
im a great believer in leaving players who have location doubts. (and a trouble making history)

I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
