  • Does A big Name In The Championship Put Bums On Seats?

    Just wondered.

Seeing that Cardiff haev loaned Bellamy do you think 2 or 3,000 extra fans would turn up and if we brought in a big player would it do the same for us?

(by the way, I am not saying we are bringing in a big big name)

There's never been a more reliable way of instantly improving the size of the gate at a football club.
      Big-name signing works every time.

Whilst I admire Bellamy's willingness to drop down a division to get football, he is a horrible little ..... and it is no wonder he only stays for about one season with any one club, he will fit in with his new clubs thugs for fans, very well indeed !!!!!

no, i wish it would but qpr fans are loyal/fickle. you and i go every week. if we signed Heskey, you MAY get extra 500 on saturday, we need to play man utd to fill the ground. sorry to sound so negative, but football is sooooo far up it's own ars* at the moment i am starting to think' why do i bother'..... again

Yeah you might get an extra few nob heads turn up who would never normally go but for me its not about the individuals! I'd still go if we had a starting 11 made up of n0nces!

Cardiff will get 2000 extra on the gate no bother.

We would need a decent name to do the same. I welcome Jon Walters to QPR but don't think he's the man to have the turnstiles spinning if I'm honest.

if we want more bums on seats then we need to continue with the start we have made, keep winning the fans will return no matter who is playing.

I know you say that you know nothing about us bringing in a big name, Pete, but has this thread got anything to do with the rumours (which I've now heard from 4 or 5 different sources) that the club are tracking Michael Owen, as he will not be in Man U's 25 and they want to loan him out for match fitness?
Certainly would be bigger than Chopra, to quote NW.

If it isn't, just ignore the ramblings of an "oldun".

if that rumour was true would be worried about his injury record.

Yes, we've got enough habitual casualties of our own already.

did nobody see the interview with him in the papers the other day?
he said he would rather sit on uniteds bench and be part of a winning team than play for a club getting 17th etc and not being with his family.
he has spent five years doing that and living away from home, and he will never do that again. the interview was so frank it shocked me a bit.
so if he moves anywhere, it will be to a club in his back garden.
gutted tho, as much as id love that rumour to be true, its a stone wall bona fide fact he will come nowhere near us.

but he wouldn't be even on the bench if rumours are to believed that he's not in the 25

so then he will go to a club near where he lives and sit on their bench.
