  • Walter Concerns

As this deal seems likely to go through am i the only one who thinks the money could be better spent elsewhere?

Here are comments from Ipswich fans hardly a glowing reference

Yes! Do it fast so that QPR or whoever the silly club is don't have enough time to rethink the stupid move. Walters doesn't cost more than 1.5M to me.

He was never a good striker and he had mixed performances on the wing so get rid and get a quality striker for the money!

Anybody actually watched QPR lately ??
They signed Abdel Taraabt from spurs for £1m, and he is a far, far better player than Walters will ever be !
So, why on earth would they pay over £3m for Walters ?
I will be astounded if they do !

    Walters wants to leave?
QPR wants to pay over £3 million?
    Norris is captain?
    Am i dreaming?

Just take the 3 million. Good business!

Walters has just been spotted arriving at QPR. I guess he is going. I just hope we get the fee.

I've heard medical today and a fee of £3.2mill. Don't know why they are paying that, should be £3.20. Happy, Happy days.

i bet there are many positive posts about Walters which you have conveiniently left out tho aint there? i would look myself but cant be bothered to cos i for one am very pleased we may sign walters.

Warnock has already stated that he is chasing 2 players,& if walters is one who's to say the other wont be a target man which would make our squad complete as Helguson is a more than able understudy & walters is no small bloke either!!

Be happy, the Rsssss are on the march!!

Talking to the some of the first teamers at that time, they thought he was the most skillful player at the club by a country mile.

Hurry up and leave you arrogant waste of space , Walters!

As has been said above, you've got to trust warnock. I do. Have in complete faith in him and have always wanted him as boss.

Also, I want players who want to play for us. Walters wants to. How will a chopra and bellamy fit into a squad? Does chopra fit bill of a lone striker role? Walters provides the front utility player we needed. I imagine we'll have a loan striker plus one more perm come the end of the transfer window.

Well I was told that he was their best player... The only reason they're being negative about him is cause he expressed his desire to leave Ipswich

So Hall has now proved himself 2 1/2 games the one against Vale a disaster and now he is injured yet again

QPR Club Making New Move for Walters
                              Tue 17th Aug 2010 12:26

QPR are again reported to be the club from outside the Premier League who have made an offer for ex-skipper Jon Walters. The Hoops are understood to be ready to pay more than £3 million for the 26-year-old, although appear yet to meet the Blues’ valuation which is nearer £4 million.

Neil Warnock’s club, who were previously reported to have offered the Blues £2.5 million for the former Chester man, are also said to be unwilling to meet Walters’s current terms at Town, which have two years to run.

The player is in any case less than certain to accept a move to London with Walters and his wife long understood to want a return to the north. Stoke City appears their preferred destination with West Brom also interested and Middlesbrough linked earlier today.

Walters, who sold his house in Suffolk earlier in the year, is also reported to have made a complaint to the club regarding bullying by Keane, a claim which is believed to have been dismissed.

The Republic of Ireland B international is also said to have been the player who recently refused to keep to his contracted media commitments, failing to take part in a Sky Sports interview with two team-mates while wearing a Town shirt. Keane refused to confirm the identity of the player involved when asked last week.

Over the weekend, in the wake of Friday’s bust-up, the Town manager said he was hoping that Walters, his one-time blue-eyed boy, could be moved on sooner rather than later: “We hope a deal can be done quickly, but we’ve heard that one before and until we get the fee we’re happy with it’ll drag on a little bit longer.”
