Walter Concerns

Originally posted by RussRanger View PostThink the main problem some have with this signing is that for months we have hoped for and believed that we will be getting a proven out and out striker. Warnock announces his main target is on his way this week and it appears at the moment that that player is Walters.
Many are naturally disappointed as Walters - who has slipped under a lot of our radars in terms of knowing how good he is - is not the "out and out" striker they anticipated us signing.
Also, disappointment comes from paying a hefty price for someone who appears to play in an area of the field we are already adequately covered for and the understandable concern that either Hogan or Mackie will make way - suggestions that Walters will have to fight for his place seem somewhat fanciful given he will become our most expensive signing and for the price is an unlikely benchwarmer or someone to fill a lack of depth in the squad.
Personally, I think the guy would be a useful addition but tbh, would rather that amount be spent on our elusive striker. However, no one has indicated that that problem isn't going to be addressed. Think if we had bought the striker first and then Walters, there wouldn't be so much concern. IMO.
think Walters is a good player (not £3.2 million worth of good player though!)
and will definately add quality to our squad.....just hope its him AS WELL AS a striker

Who do you trust more, NW or Keane?
Why are Stoke and WBA interested?
Do you honestly think NW would spend all this money on a right winger if it meant he'd have no more money for a striker? He's continuously said he wants 2 or 3 more. Walters will be a very good signing for us when the squad is thin on the ground and he nets a winner last minute away at some norvun shitole with Oastler and Ehmer on the bench
