  • Just shows it is ALL down to money.......

No wonder the fans and footballers are just drifting further and further apart, with the news that we are unlikely to get Roberts who is on 30k a week playing the odd game and wants more than a 2 year deal.
There is clearly no desire to want to play regular football in a team that should be challenging for promotion and scoring goals. He is they say a QPR fan so why doesn't he drop to 20k a week to get regular games, why because greed has taken over ! When Rooney had a pop at the Fans after Algeria that showed me where the fan and player now stand, with the players having no respect for the fan who pays thousands to go and watch them, mostly there savings but only a small percentage of what a player earns in ONE day.
Very very sad but alas also very very true RIP to football as I use to know it !

Agree with you about footballers but think this let's the board off to easily. There have been plenty of cheap and even free strikers with a good track record who have come available yet three years on who are we left with up front? Taarabt must be thinking "what the hell have I done coming back to work with this bunch of amateurs...?"

Spot on and you can see why players don't want to come.

It's not our boards fault we have a small fan base so we need to get real, they should lower the ST prices and bring in players who we can afford and let Neil get on with it, if we go up then even better... Blackpool done it so it can be done.

Not true. We have had one "blip" in the last 10+ years where we had better gates. The rest has been about the same every single year.

                  Kit you are spot on.

Reality is football is slowing losing its appeal to many people and spoilt footballers and their big wage packets don't help, apparantly when asked on Twitter Rowan Vine (not 100% sure it was him) was told "you played with concrete in you'll boots last season" to which he replied "no mate just pound coins". Thats a truthful answer that many players would not give us supporters

Its our love for the club which are paying players wages, across the country you have players switching clubs to make the best deal for themselves, do many think of the club's hisoty and supporters, of course they don't.

lots of footballers are greedy and only care about money - but we all know that already....hardly news is it???

Steven Ireland wants £2 million lump sum to move to villa....what for??? The inconvenience? He would rather not play. That is what footballers are like.

But it hasn't affacted our gates one bit.

Spot on..QPR have about 10,000 hardcore fans who will come regardless of costs....probably another 2 - 3 ,000 floaters who will come if it suits them then about 15,000 glory hunters who will only come to wembley , cardiff, chelsea away etc.

its a complete dewy eyed myth that there are thousands of qpr fans just waiting for the season tickets to drop by 100 quid before they all come in singing and dancing!! your list further down proves this.

What i dont think you are aware of ..... his wages to his out goings are all relative to a "normal person" just bigger numbers..

Im would guess that his morguage payments are going to be 60,000 or 90,000 a month..
So knowing full well that once he stops playing football he will be out of a job. with no money coming in..

Tell me again why he would take 20,000 pound cut in wages.

if we had a decent ground with decent facilities and decent leg room along with decent owners who want the club to move forward then crowds would be at the 20 k mark...Many people moved out to the burbs in the 70's hence the big fan base around Hillingdon and such like...Reading had a pony ground and gates increased when they moved...as did southampton, boro, bolton, derby, leicester, face it a lick of paint and a poxy big screen aint improved nothing.....that 2005 season was when the club was at its lowest money wise and away support at loftus road was about 300 apart from the odd 1500 so we averaged over 15000 home fans every game....

qprsouth - there is some truth in all that. A good facility attracts more people. New and returning fans alike.

what links all those clubs..you mention..they are all in the do do financially

and are all doing soooooo much better than QPR......they all play to half full stadiums every week..why build a 30,000 seater for 12,000 odd fans.

i am really beginning to lose faith with our fans...we do have decent owners who are running the club sensibly..appointed a sensible manager ..have started the league with a 4- 0 win. when the take over happened everyone was saying we don't want to do a chelsea or we want a family club..and now its we should be spending 30k a week on x and spend 4 million on Y!
