Firstly, at no time do I recall NW saying he won't have ANY Loans this season. In fact, I recall him saying that although he much prefers players owned by the club, he may employ 1 loan. Seven was far too many, can't even play them all. Not just reading that but actually hearing him say that.

Secondly, we've been saying for ages, we'll have to wait for the 25 man squads to be announced before we're likely to be able to recruit much from the Premiership. Well that still stands doesn't it ? I don't see too many players jumping the Premiership gravy boat until it's obvious they're not in their Manager's plans.

Thirdly, Blackpool spending big ? Are they ? Really ? Well bigger than us maybe, but then they got £90M behind them for the next few years, £50M of that guaranteed this season. So, they should be spending more than us.
Just because we got VERY rich owners or majority shareholders or whatever, it doesn't mean we're going to match Man City or Blackpool or any Premiership side in spending. Sure we could offer loads of very average players 100k a week to join us, just in the hope of reaching the promised land, but as soon as those same backers decide to move on, leaving a bunch of high earning, prima donnas, underachieving, we'll be in a worst position than Portsmouth.
How many Premiership players or strikers from Cardiff are chomping at the bit to join a team who narrowly escaped relegated from the Championship last season ? Let's stay realistic.

Of course I want, Chopra, Roberts, Boyd, Bailey, Owen, Bellamy (No, not the last one - Sorry), but I also want a team to support next season....and the next.....you get the point.

I'm much more interested in the 2 players NW & MJ didn't think they'd want but have impressed them since.......Taarabt for one I think, who else ?

Perhaps part of the reason for low crowds is precisely because QPR haven't spent money to build a squad good enough to challenge for promotion.

I am not talking about the play-offs - for which practically any Championship side can sneak into - but the top two.

The prices QPR charge also doesn't help to attract more fans.

If QPR had signed better players in pre-season than Clarke and Derry perhaps more fans would have purchased an over priced ST.

I was always at the opinion that most viewed January as less important and far riskier as new transfers need time to settle in and the January transfer window doesn't offer that. Plus teams are likely to up their prices as they can't afford to let go of prize assets half way through the year.

What happens if after 6 games it becomes clear that we really do need more strength, we have to rely on the loan market for the next 20 odd games or make do.

All i want is to get to the Premier and survive there, winning it i know is a very distant dream and i can't ever see it happening at QPR, Europa Cup is probably the most we can expect, this may sound harsh but i'm only being realistic.

If I was being realistic, I'd be nowhere near the Europa Cup and certainly have no expectation of actually winning it currently.

Right now, my hope, (not expectation) is to be in the playoff mix come Easter.
With a couple of strikers, or 1 and HH coming good maybe I'll raise my sights, but every time I do, Rangers kick me in the nuts.

So I'm trying desperately not to focus on Barnsley but instead fear another Port Vale.
Pessimistic, I know. But right now our best playoff hopes rest with Neil & Adel.

The board at QPR don't seem to be able to grasp, that a club, any club, that harbours ambitions of being in the premier league, must spend a fair bit in order to seriously have go.
Blackpool last season being a rare exception to the rule, of course.

The inability of the board to be able to solve the perennial problem we have in signing one, preferably two, quality strikers, is ridiculous.

We are already hearing, earlier this season than normal, the comical line that its all about january (which in january becomes "its alll about june" etc).

NW has been trying to sign strikers and for whatever reason we can't get them, if that is the situation, we MAY have to go down the loan route, but we will not have the crazy situation of last year when we had what-7?
What is the problem?
Also, if players won't come, for whatever reason, you know what? - it happens!
And its NOT just a question of money, or paying "whatever it costs"-even if you spend BIG it guarantees nothing.
