  • The Lack Of A Big Name Striker......

Let's be honest here people, why are we surprised.

It has nothing to do with lacking ambition, but we simply can't afford the 20-30K wages that these sort of players command.

1 - We have been outside the top division for over 10 years,

2 - We struggle to fill our ground on a weekly basis,

3 - We never generate any revenue from cup runs or the sale of players

4 - We can't even get people to advertise round the ground

There simply is not enough money coming into the club for us to challenge for these sort of players. yes our owners have cash. but our club doesn't. If they were to splash the cash, then we would end up going the down the same route as the likes of Portsmouth, Southend, Sheffield Wednesday. I for one am glad they are running the club financially as it should be.

Neil Warnock (And I am sure this is the case, though of course I don't know as I am just a fan like us all), was never promised a treasure chest (Media talk and rumours) as he is the sort of manager who would walk if the board backed down on promises.

We ALL need to understand that we are still a relatively small club and have to react in this manner when it comes to transfer dealings

The fact we have managed to secure Tarrabt to me is a stroke of genious by the board and I for one am very happy with this.

Anyway, roll on Saturday and let's hope we are still 21st in the Premiership come 18.00 :-)

pretty much agree with all of that but if our owners who are mega-minted really did want us to go up then they could easily afford decent wages for a decent striker

      Mittal has £20-odd BILLION POUNDS.

I don't expect us to spend £8m on one player, but a quality striker for £3m would be nice.

They don't really have any ambition, its all talk no action.

        It's also a business.............

I'm glad they treat it like so and not throw money around, then get bored with their plaything and then pull the money out the club and leave us in a financial mess.

The key part of your response if this "Mittal has £20-odd BILLION POUNDS" it does not read anywhere that "QPR has £20-odd BILLION POUNDS"

It is and to succeed you need to spend money. You need to invest. Very simple.

No one makes money in this league, the only way to make money is in the Premiership and the only way to get there (99% of the time) is too spend money.

                Specualte to accumulate.

In my opinion, Abramovic is a one off in football! No other club is run in that manner and Chelsea are reaping the rewards.

We are not Chelsea are owners clearly are running it in a different manor, think we need to trust the new regime

Of course, but we won't make any money if we don't invest any.
How on earth can we sell out the ground if the football played there is ****? People will never come until we have something decent to sell.

Blackpool managed to pull it off!!!! It clearly can be done.

As for the football, I was happy with the result on Saturday, we rested half the squad on Tuesday hence the end result. Let's judge the progress come the end of the game against Sheffield United.

paying 4 odd mill and 30 grand wages on a goal scorer of repute who will ensure that we at least stand a better chance of getting to the prem(and earning decent dough)than our rivals is surely good business. having 4/5 carp strikers is not!!!!

Mate, I agree with what you are saying and would love us to do that to show our intent. But i'm just keeping my feet on the ground and looking at it how it actually is.

I'm sure Taarabt earns a fair bit of dough a week, we can't have a team full of players earning that sort of money. QPR not the Mittals can't afford it.

                              Well researched :-)

Look mate, I am a fan like we all are. But let's all learn to deal with the fact that our club is being run as a business.

They are not going to spend a fortune on a player and pay ###x per week whilst we are still in the Championship.

If we are pushing in January, maybe it will be different and again I hope this is the case. But the reality is, we are linked with so many big players throughout the summer, but as the months go by they all join someone else and we beg steal and borrow. It's just the way it is.
