Sorry but before we all jump on the Boards back, Roberts is 32, his pace which is apparently a prized asset will have gone by the end of a 3 year deal. If my maths are correct we'd have to pay him about 4.6m over those 3 years he wants. Is that sustainable on a club our size? No

Chopra I would make an exception for as he's younger and guarenteed to score goals, he also has some resale value

He might want £30000 a week, and more than a 2 year deal, but who in their right mind is going to give it to him? He might have a long wait.

Exactly, and as I said, injuries are tough to recover from at his age. I think a 2 year contract is fair for him at this stage of his career.

Chopra is the one I can't argue. Sign him up if we're serious.
          Your mum would love me...

I'm seriously hoping he and Clarke are no more than squad players. Helguson as far as I can see is our only decent strikers and I use that term loosely.
15 years in the wilderness will be a distant memory come Sunday 8th May 2011.

Seems some haven't learned from the Paladini 4 year deals. The people who want Roberts in whatever the cost are doubtless bemoaning the fact we have Vine, Pellican Dave etc in the ressies on fat contracts

Completely agree Magic..its madness to fork out that sort of money on someone his age and with his fitness record! Another marcus bent looking for one last fat paycheque.

I woukld love to see grahma here at qpr, could get him in for no more then 1.5 mill maybe even less, wont cost the world in wages, young and knows where the goal is...........and is a rwealistic transfer target...partner him with hulse and we would have a very good front line...will keep finger crossed for chops...hes the only one we should maybe consider paying silly money for becaise opf his age...as for roberts really like him would be class signing but does not make sense to pay a 32 year old 30k a week on a 3 year deal, we can not sustain that atm....yes we have rich owners but we are not a rich club and we have to be sensible........
the other option with roberts is to offer him 30 k a week on a 1 year deal or maybe 2 and say if you score goals and we get up to the promise land your have that extra year waiting for you mate...

Could be the difference between Premiership and Championship next season, which is worth a hell of a lot more than 4m quid!

Amen to that.WTF are we waiting for,we need a young tall striker that wouldn't cost a fortune in transfer and wages. Local lad that fits the bill perfectly.End of.

Roberts has never said he would want £30,000 a week, infact I read an interview that he would be happy to take a pay cut and drop down the leagues if it felt right. Chops is a totally different story though. He would command a big fee and as we all know QPR never get involved in big money. £1m is normally where the negotiating ends! But let's sign s**t strikers and be in exactly the same position in 2 years time and have the conversation all over again cos I enjoy your company guys! Lol

If its true that Roberts is holding out for 30 large a week then as much as ill be gutted not to get him, i dont blame the club for not paying him it. We have to live by our means, forget how much the owners have in their banks, they aren't gonna chuck silly dough at the cause. If they were going to they would have already. Luke Varney it is then.
