Ive always said it, but Hall just doesnt clear his lines. On the floor, he is a decent footballer - but defensively, he is very poor. At the end of the day, we need to clear our lines, but whenever he plays, we let our opponents have countless free headers and unmarked chances. He is useless in the air, gives away too many free kicks and leaves too much space. I am not judging this on the Port Vale game, and to me it was also clear against Barnsley. Obviously, we cant complain about the result that day, but a lot of the time defensively we rode our luck. There were just too many free headers and sitters, which thankfully were missed.
Port Vale could have had more too, hitting the bar, and missing a couple of other decent chances. Why are they getting these chances in the first place?
I genuinely think that we have a good side, and a good mix of players, and coming forward we can be a real threat, especially in midfield where we are very strong. With new additions up front, we could be a real threat. However, we are going to leak goals for fun if Hall continues to play imo, especially against stronger sides like Middlesborough, Forest etc. Usually, Hall gets found out at some point and we would end up replacing him with someone else - but now he is captain, are we ever going to drop him?
Im completely on Warnocks side, i think he is perfect for the job and knows what he is doing, but Il never understand the decision for Hall to be picked as captain - and i dont think many of you would disagree.
