him for deffo. but when you read about people bringing their boys for their first ever game at 3 years old etc, it does make you think why should we let the future r's idolise a man whos actually a proper ****bag with no regard for anything other than picking up easy readies.

that will leave a real bad taste in the mouth, and look like same old same old rangers, mugging off the fans and doing things the cheap way and not having real ambition.
but, and this is a massive but, if we get chopra, or someone else of that ilk as our first choice striker and king is back up or even to partner our main man, then it will be just about bearable and easier to give him a 'second chance'.

by the way, have people actually seen his criminal record other than what he went down for? hes a proper bad un to the bone. would prefer him not to come here deep down.
That's the problem. We're not talking about a "second chance" here.... it's a long list, over many years.
      Bit like Joey Barton.

I'm not over moralising here, but.... It's not what the public think of him that bothers me, it's what the other players/staff would think of him.
Good player, but best avoided. Surely there are better options out there... do we really need to take that risk?
      I'd say no.

No, we absolutely don't need to, but he is on a free, and you know our club like a free signing, that's the worry.

Warnock could offer deal to King

          (UKPA) – 22 minutes ago

QPR manager Neil Warnock is considering offering a deal to striker Marlon King.

The 30-year-old finished a nine month prison sentence for assault last week, and is looking for a way back into football. Warnock, whose side opened the npower Championship season with a 4-0 win over Barnsley on Saturday, has admitted he could be the man to give the former Hull forward a chance.

"We haven't got a 20-goal-a-season man and you do need one," he told the Daily Mail.

"He has served his time and we live in a country that we say when they have finished their time, give them another opportunity.

"He is a good player and I think he will score goals. I am not condoning what he has done but I look at some of the other cases of players who have got into trouble in the past.

"People have killed people and they never got the stick this lad has got. Whoever takes him, he will want to prove himself."

Warnock might want to reappraise himself of the Plymouth messageboards around the time of McCormicks convictions and the Oldham and Notts County boards when they signed Lee Hughes.

Thing is, King has had numerous other "second chances" and hasn't changed. Of course Warnock's ego would love to prove that he would be the one who could control him.....like Bruce and Hart before him...

I really didn't (and hope don't) think that we were the sort of dirty, grubby and morally vacuous football club that would stoop to signing someone with King's criminal record.

Additionally, has anyone actually looked at King's scoring record in the Championship? Not exactly great is it........

If King was a proven Premiership striker of genuine quality I would understand why it might be worth the risk. He isn't, he is going to be far from match fit, and frankly he isn't worth the risk. I do separate that from his personal life, I am talking purely on footballing terms and the effect his presence would have.

He is obviously someone who needs professional help to try to sort out his life, just vilifying him is pointless. But I think we can do better in the transfer market, full stop.

Yeah he'd bitten off more than he could chew, he'd had an earful of it.
