  • Anyone hear Mark Lawrenson's comments on 5 Live

Didn't hear it myself but was told he was heaping praise on the signing if Taarabt and said he couldn't believe he had signed for us.

He said something along the lines of Adel single handidly having the ability to carry the team this season to promotion.

    Can't say I disagree Mark

Apparently the crowd were right behind him, bowing down every time he came near?

That is correct. He got a brilliant ovation when his name was announced to which he clapped the crowd. At every corner he was getting cheered, clapped & supported. All around me I heard nothing but praise & not a single gripe. He passed when needed to, he turned on the tricks, he layed off the ball to oncoming runners, his corners were text book & really should of had someone on the end if at least one of them. He ran & ran & when he finally came off every fan was on their feet in applause for what was an outstanding full debut as a QPR player. So buzzing we have this guy at our club. Class.

Ben Mackie runs a lot & to give the boy credit he works his nuts off. But no way man of the match. First touch was poor & Adel simply had to much in his locker today to be denied MOM.

                      Fair enough.

Quality to hear from other folk that the likes of Mackie, Hill and Derry all had great games, as well as Taarabt. It shows we're looking solid as a team.

Fumbled a couple but very vocal to his back 4 ans to be honest wasn't really called upon. Big test next week for these boys.

Got a chant "Adel's too good for you, Adel's too good for you ..." to the tune of the now defunct "Gigi de Canio, Bernie & Flavio.." Brilliant!

Things can only get better and training is all Mackie needs for his first touch, nothing that can't be sorted.

They certainly were, he must of thought he was 12 foot tall today. So if he can remember what QPR support is like when you put the effort in, it'll help on those days when he brings out the attitude. I can put up with the odd tantrum when you have talent like this guy has.
