I certainly hope so - would be a tremendous signing.

Roberts is a born-and-bred west Londoner, and Rangers have discovered he would not be averse to a move back home as well as the chance to return to the top-flight with Neil Warnock’s new-look outfit next season.

The sticking points may be the 32-year-old striker’s wages as well as how much Rovers want for a player in the last year of his contract.

Roberts earns around £30,000-a-week, but a deal involving length of contract and bonuses in a successful Rs side would sort out potential problems.

Warnock admitted that although he was happy with his backline and midfield, there were still issues over naming his front two in time to face the Tykes.

He said: “It’s no secret I’m trying to bring in at least two new forwards ideally, but it’s a question of how much we can afford.”

i'd be well chuffed if we were to sign him...

I don't care how old he is, he'd still be a good addition, although he's no spring chicken.

Roberts would be a really really good signing. At Championship level we should not undervalue experience up front and at 32 years of age he would have few good seasons in him still.

Should have been a Rangers player at the start of his career like many others seeing as he started at Hayes.

I also could see someone like Roberts forging a partnership with the likes Helguson quite well.

IF Warnock can pull off such a signing, there is still a concern attached to it: How to get Adel Taraabt to pass him the ball.

Hopefully we can attract this type of forward, could be a great acquisition but I'll wait for the fat lady again

i can't see Blackburn allowing him to go out on loan.

Which is the whole reason they have slapped a fee on him.

What will happen is Rangers will stall and try to go for a loan and another Championship club will move in and secure him like the way Brum did with Phillips and get promoted.
