Seriously cannot believe anyone is comparing Taarabt with the likes of Bowles, Marsh, Byrne, Wegerle or Currie.......

Top level pro's who consistently performed in the top half of the top flight year after year after year and on the international stage (admittedly Currie's spell with us was in the second tier but he'd done it before). Taarabt has had 41 games in the 2nd tier of which he contributed in half a dozen.

    Hype gone mad!

No this what annoys me, people are not making the comparison just yet but recognise he has the potential to be compared to these players in the future.

To be fair, it wasn't him that made the comparison to those players.

I think he was referring to the unpredictability, outrageous talent and potential.

Every single player has "potential". To compare Taarabt in any way shape or form to those players is nonsensical and just adds unnecessary burdens on the lads shoulders.

If Warnock can get Adel playing for the team instead of himself then there is no gamble.

With NW as his boss and a long term deal signed I'd like to think it'll settle him down.

Supporters should never boo their own team. EVER (unless it's Ben Watson jumping out of tackles at Ipswich) - why are people trying to justify it being ok? It's NOT!! Let our manager manage him. If he does somthing deemed as wrong Neil will speak to him. It is not our place to tell him by shouting in an aggresive manor at the young lad.. IT WILL NOT HELP! & breath.

Once again Nodge there was no comparison made in terms of how good the player is, it was a reference to the type of player Taarabt is instead. He's skillful, unpredictable and potential a match winner, the better he performs the more you will see these names mentioned.

You just have the hump because you didn't want him to sign.

                    Eh?

Where have I ever said that? I don't believe he's anywhere near as good as others believe he is (or the boy himself thinks he is), but I've never been adverse to him signing.

To flip your point, I've seen players hounded out of clubs for disrespecting the fans and the club to a lesser degree than Taarabt has done to QPR fans in the past season. Does he get a free pass for that?

With due respect Nodge did you ever see Stan or Rodney play? If you didn't it will probably come as no suprise that both of these QPR legends were not adverse to a bit of petulance (especially) Bowles. I must say that Adel is the type of player who will not give two hoots about being compared to such illustrious company or to any adverse reaction he gets from the fans (home or away) he is confident in his own ability and if he has the right motivation (cue mr motivator NW) then he will turn it on at will.

I think he the most exciting signing in years and will not let the doubters change my mind. sure he comes with a risk, that risk being one of his greatest assetts - unpredictability. Long may that be the case!!!

It wasn't that long a go that Adel was being referred to as the new Zidane.

Give the lad the opportunity to show what he can do now he has signed for a team that will play him, rather than him trying to prove something to Tottenham.
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

The Ryman League is scattered with players of enormous "potential". You have to align that potential with attitude and commitment.

The potential is there, yes, but at some point, you need to walk the walk.

Yes - saw Bowles in his pomp. He never once demonstrated the on field poor attitude that Taarabt displayed.

If Taarabt didn't give two hoots about crowd reaction, why the wrist flicking and the demand to be substituted? I can't believe the petulance has been overlooked.

Is there any room for reasoned commentary here? It's like praising a Zune on Apple fan boys blog...

Agree with that pete, and i think if us fans support him and all the players and dont boo anyone we will have a positive affect on the performance of the team, me however am just slightly worried about the Center Half position (as well as striker) as we dont have any pace at the back. Gorrks is slow, Hall is slow, Ramage is slow, Connelly is ok at best and i thought NW was going to sign a Center Half.

However im quite pleased with the squad and you know that NW will motivate the players so hopefully we can have a good crack at play offs at least.
