  • Warnock's spin and lies.................

    Heaven knows how many times last season did Warnock say how much fun he was going to have in the transfer market this summer. He was going to bring in 3 top strikers. Even Ishan and Amit constantly said there would be some top signings for the squad. But as many have said the season ticket holders who have yet again put their money where their mouth is have been proper mugged off again.

    Why can't Warnock and the board be honest with us and say they we were only going to do freebies and cheap signings this summer of very average players.

    Kenny-700k?
    Hill- Free
    Derry- Free
    Clarke - Free
    Mackie -500k?
    Orr - 400k?

    You look at that list and you think AVERAGE, OLD and RELEGATION

    I have tried to be positive all summer,but sadly although I hope for 4th from bottom I think we will get relegated. There is a reason why other average Championship teams wanted rid of these players and as usual we were happy to oblige by signing them on long contracts.

    And still I see no players have been released which was promised by spin machine Warnock.

    A real sad start to the season to be a Rangers fan.
    First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

    I don't think Warnock is the spin machine here -- I think he's only saying what he himself has been led to believe by the board.

    But yes, I agree, average, old and relegation are pretty much in my thoughts too.

          Dave, leave it out.
          How has he spun lies?

          He's had a fee agreed for Taarabt and is trying to tie him down. He also wants two more strikers. You can't force players to join you, and having fans who do nothing but moan is hardly an attractive prospect for a player to be part of.

          You love to over dramatise things mate. Even as things stand, we're a mid-table team at worst. 'IF'...And I do mean 'IF' we get Taarabt and Bednar in, we're easilly able to get playoffs at a minimum.

              Maybe a little harsh, being that he's supported Rangers all his life and travelled up and down the country with his dad, spending thousands upon thousands in the proccess.

              It's just that time of the month...That's all

                From quite a few of these threads, I get the feeling that quite a few rangers fans are going to get up on saturday and go "god another awful season at rangers. Suppose I better get myself down to LR to watch more rubbish. Bloody warnock and bloody board....... £3.75 a pint? You've got to be kidding me....and it's too bloody hot."

                  Dave - i can feel your frustration. You're up there with the most loyal and dedicated fans who I can normally guarantee seeing away in some Northern outback on a cold Tuesday night whilst the rest of these keyboard warriors do what they do best.

                  However, I look at that list and it tells me that QPR have spent, on transfer fees alone, £1.6MILLION already this season.
                  Take the owners out of the equation and just think for a minute --- did we ever think we'd spend ANY money in the market again when putting money in buvkets for Jamie Cureton? It's amazing a club like QPR can still afford to after that Director of Football Clowns made disasterous decisions as little as a year ago and left the club saddled with the dross we still have.

                  Warnock has been told to run the place as a football club with a budget - I've no problem with that and I feel it's what he's doing.

                  I will agree with you that I wish the propaganda machine in club could be locked away and massaging peoples expectations is not the way forward.

                  We'll not go down -- Warnocks teams at this level never will.

                  I need some time in the sunshine, I gotta slow it right down.

                    There are 3 different types of Rangers fans.

                    Optimists = Q Block Pete

                    Pessimists = Benny Boy Rs

                    Realists = HammersmithR

                    I make my judgement on what I see every week. I saw the majority of this squad last season and they were awful. These average new signings are NOT going to suddenly make us a play off side.

                    Some people on this message board make me laugh. Take your rose tinted Rangers glasses off. I would love us to do well and get promoted, but sadly by looking at our squad and comparing it to others I can only see a season what we have seen in the last 3 or 4.

                    WAKE UP, RANGERS FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                    Don't be taken for a ride by spin.

                          I do see where you’re coming from in that the players brought in aren’t exactly world beaters and we haven’t spend (so far) a great deal of cash.

                          But 1) I think we’re spending sensibly so that when (because they will) mittals at al leave, we don’t want to be in a no paddle situation down that bloody creak….not again!

                          2) Warnock has been there done it and got teams promoted. His record is up there with the best in this league. In my view he is the best at getting results in this league

                          3) When we went on our shocking run we lacked players to roll their sleaves up and get everyone to fight. We have those players in Derry and Hill. (not to mention the manager!)

                          4) We have some cracking players in faurlin, buzz (and hopefully adel). These 3 would (or should) get in every other team in the championship. We need likes of derry in midfield to enable them to play…bit like mahon was doing on our good run last season

                          5) Defensively we also look strong. People may point to Hall (as gorkks, hill and orr are a solid defence) but hall was a decent defender he has had too many injuries and something was up with him last season. Warnock has now made him captain so I’m expecting a cracking season from him
