Paul if Adel signs and plays on Saturday and scores will you be like the rest of us cheering etc or will you be waiting for him to make a mistake so you can say I told you so ? Just wondering not a dig but you seem to hate Adel and naturally assume he is to blame for the length of this protracted deal when unless you say otherwise you are not privvy to any such information.

I don't think they would actually - perhaps 90% would want him to sign - but if it could be proven that it would affect unity then that figure would massively reduce - I think many would expect NW to control the squad unity issue - it is one of his biggest attributes IMO

Probably realises that the player has us effectively over a barrell so close to the start of the season and pushes what might have been previously verbally agreed northward.

Plus I'd expect some sort of fixed transfer fee in the contract should a French or Spanish club come in for him in January or Summer 2011.

It's important to keep to our budget because this one signing could mean no other playing coming in.
agreed MYU and what cracks me is that everyone is like yes he has signed when he clearly hasn't and when this happens they get all disappointed.. don't tempt with fate as this is what will happen

what a load of rubbish, personal terms, surely, do not take this long to sort...

Conversation between Adel, NW and board (or whom this concerns)

NW: Fee is now sorted ... how about £12k a week?
Adel: hmm im not sure, bit more please?
                NW: 15k?
Adel: 18 and you have a deal...?
                NW: YES... Sign here please...

NW: NO, See ya later, asking for to much, do you want to play for us or not?

Simples, he either wants it or not, or we want him enough to meet his demands, and if its 2-5 k more then maybe we should just meet it?

What was Neil doing on the radio when he should have been sorting this deal out?

Then NW or GP or Ali R has 20 other pro's knocking on their doors asking for similar rises and your team spirit goes to pot.

You were probably the first saying the same sort of thing when we were after Vine on a permo and it wouldn't surprise me if you are also the first to now complain about Vine being on such high wages.

These things take time. I'd rather the club were careful and didn't throw the club's wage structure out of the window, harming squad unity in the process as opposed to offering Taarabt whatever he wants.
Have to agree with your comments as despite some now claiming of course that when the likes of Dave,Vine and Hall were given 4 year plus contracts they were up in arms and the majority of us wore blinkers etc etc

I am the first to say in hindsight that these three players for example are far from perfect to say the least and never should have received such long deals but I am honest enough to say that at the time I thought it was good business by the club as all three looked very decent players at the time

Lets not all be hypocrites like some certain fans who on one hand keep bleating about long contracts and high wages awarded in the past to players and then demand we want the same now for a young though extremely talented player

I would dearly love the club to sign this player but lets all be realistic and not be held to ransom at the last minute if this is the case and afterall we are still speculating on what is exactly going on behind closed doors at the moment

Good point, I do find it strange how he finds time to do all these radio interviews when we are paying him very well.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Doubt very much if the contractual finances would be anything to do with NW. He's done his job by selling the Club to the player. The finances should be sorted by the Chairman or MD (GP or AR) with the Club Secretary and Legal reps producing the documents and checking the clauses etc....

Sadly not all of these chaps are worth the money, and they know this...

So if Derry wants 18k then he must be on another planet

Ah.... at last a man who talks sense. lol

It was never confirmed that he had signed. Lets wait and see...

instead of slagging off "greedy players, agents, NW, the club, football itself etc."

I for one am looking forward to the new season. Then again i am a QPR fan and stupid.
