Maybe Scunny and Bristol City would have suffered without their goal machines or maybe by only having one decent striker it puts pressure on the team to pass to that player rather than taking the shot themselves? Maybe there are reasons why Scunny and City didn't walk the league whereas other teams without such players performed much better? Or maybe Hooper or Maynard would have scored even more for Newcastle and WBA? Who knows. The fact is you don't need a 20+ goal scorer to get promoted as last year proved.
