Seems they are trying to do a deal, which really means the HMRC have won but they are trying to avoid the liquidation of Pompey, or so the reporter is saying.
Forgive my ignorance here, but since when has it been acceptable to anyone other than football related creditors, that only they get paid in full whilst everybody else has to suffer losses.
What I find incredible, is that the Revenue have allowed the debt to get to the level it has without action being taken before.
Ultimately, Portsmouth, Cardiff and Palace to name just a few from our division are avoiding paying money owed to the public purse, or to you and me if you like. Hopefully, a more satisfactory outcome will emerge from any appeal, with precedents being set for the future.
I sincerely hope that all these teams have miserable seasons now.
This isn't over yet though and if HMRC lose again I fear for any club in arrears because they will be chasing it down straight away from now on, so Pompeys saving grace could mean the demise now of many more clubs.

Sensible words Sir.
The future's bright...the future is blue and white.
