Season tickets

Nowhere near 7k let alone the *magic* 9k.
What's the reason?

Have people not renewed because we haven't brought in the Hollywood signings? Did the club make any promises to that effect - such as wanting to have 'fun' in the transfer market?

Have the Mittals not yet healed the damage of the Briatore era?

Are lots of people feeling the strain in the recession?

All of the above? Know it's been talked about plenty on this board, but now that the season is kicking off this weekend questions will be asked for sure within the club about the less than sensational sales.

Be interested in your thoughts.

For the record I got a season ticket for the first time in 10 years - am cautiously optimistic, more fool me.

A few people will renew once adel and others have signed, i think we can hit 8,000, 9 might just be a little bit too adventurous.....

Although should our form be good, a large number might decide to get a half season ticket.

Many simply cannot afford it, but the underlining thing for me and some others is the value attached to ti.

Like many including yourself, I have bought a season ticket for many years, yet I see £10 offers and other discounted matches. Add to this away season ticket value is hardly worthwhile as you can get many away games if not all without one. If we are doing well and I think it will be hard to get tickets I will buy a half season ticket, but for me it came down to value for money and saving it, thats why I will pay every game.

Thats cannot be right and I just wish the club had taken steps to make season ticket holders at least get 3-4 games free, which unfortunately they never did.

The price was too high, even more so considering the financial climate. Also as Pete says, they don't represent value for money. Add in the lack of inspiring signings and you have three good reasons why less than 7,000 have been sold.

Norwich sold more than 20,000. And before anyone says it, yes, I know there is only one club in Norwich, but West & Central London has a far bigger population than Norwich and the surrounding area.

The only reason we've afforded ours is due to circumstances we'd prefer not to have -- Josie and my dad both disabled concessions, me and Dan going free as their carers.
Otherwise it would now be full price for me and Dan and there's no way we could afford it.
And, as Pete said, we no longer get the handful of games for free that we used to (and which fans of other clubs get).

Don't know what calculations you were using Pete but here is mine,
24 x £23.50 (That's a Bronze ticket plus the £3.50 admin fee for buying online) (Also including the Free Cup game)= £564.00
ST Cost (Bronze - Early Bird) £399.00
That's a saving of £165 (Now divide that by £23.50) meaning i get 7 free games.

Not bad eh!

Oh and if you use the calculation at £20 (Without the admin, if i were to turn up and buy at the BO)
24 x £20 = £480
That's still a saving of £81 (Or 4 free games)

Not bad really when you think about it eh?

Pete said 'Season Ticket holders' in his post he did not say from which part of the ground he was talking about, i presume he was meaning overall, but i was just giving my calculations on where i sit and how much i pay.

I don't know, but it can't be that different using the same calculations depending on where different people sit.

I don't have the time, but would be interested to see the different calcs.

have to take into account all the promotions they did last season and will probably be doing this season..
many a time last season i was annoyed to find i had paid a lot more for a game because we had a season tickets compared to other people getting in for £10 or a family deal.
Paid £2000 for my family of four to go last season in season tickets alone
