I have to disagree with Spence and Pete on this ocassion. I don't think we can blame the fans for getting upset when he could of just threaded through a simple pass for Buzz to tap in. I will be pleased if we sign Adel but we don't want a repeat of that. Buzz is a VERY good player and Adel will have to learn when to pass and when not too.

Adel and his 'attitude problem'

I was shocked by Taarabts attitude issues last season, however, I think that a permanent deal will settle him and he won't constantly be thinking he's better than QPR and expecting a move to a 'bigger' club all the time.
In Warnock we trust!
Be nice to Minty

Adel is a great player at this level and I welcome him.
Not sure if he has an attitude problem just think he treads a very fine line between having immense confidence in his ability - which he should have - and arrogance - which he shouldn't.
Pretty sure Warnock will sort it and we'll see the best of him, hopefully without the tantrums and dummy spitting.

I'm hoping that like Minty has said, now that he has found a team and a manager who wants him, maybe he will settle down. That said - if you take too much of his"attitude" out of him,do you lose some of his falir on the pitch...Bit like the Roy Keane and Ian Wrights arguemtns etc..

Yeah fair point. I don't want him to lose the swagger but I don't think fans should be told off because the score at barnsley was irrelevant, as that kind of thing is very bad for team spirit. If he only had aygemang out wide that can be forgiven but a player of Buzz's class is a different story.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

When I look at Taarabt I see a match winner, a player who no one else can match for ability in this division. We have seen a degree of petulance on the pitch from AT which certain fans have used to demonise the player as some sort of anti christ and I just don't get it.
We had no harder working player in the final third than Taarabt last season, you can see that from the amount of efforts he had on goal which more often than not were real shooting opportunities made by himself and were it not for the woodwork and some wayward shooting he would have easily doubled his goal tally last year. It then frustrates me to hear Taarabt being described as lazy because he isn't tracking back every 5 mins. I'll tell you another thing if he loses possession he does his best to get back, why? Because he constantly wants the ball and going back at the opposition on the attack.
AT is simply not happy to collect his wages each week he loves playing football. Ok he liable to storm off down the tunnel at the end of a game when things don't go his way or when substituted instead hanging around shaking the oppositions hands after defeat, but who cares he is a winner, I wish the rest of the squad wanted to win that much and be a match winner.
Off the pitch I have heard AT is a model professional, he is teetotal and religious and is part of community here in London. You don't hear off AT falling out of night clubs at 3am with a couple of tarts on his arms, beating people up in wine bars or shagging team mates wives. These are the sort of things which give someone an attitude problem IMO yet because he is an emotional player he gets frustrated and constantly wants to do something special he has an attitude???
Flair players more often begin life as individual talents and become team players as their career progresses. More often than not it takes a bit of nurturing from the right manager to make things click. To have so much confidence and ambition at such a young age should not be used as a stick to beat the individual. So we are not his first choice, so what, we are a mid table CCC side who can't even fill our ground, believe me we are not the most attractive proposition to a player like AT. We are reported to be the only club in for but in truth no one knows the full situation and it maybe no one can match our offer or guarantee him first team football like we can.
I just hope if he does sign a certain section of our support get off his back and stop looking for reasons to hate AT and welcome him with open arms like we should because from where I'm sitting he is not the one with the attitude problem.
AT is a flair player, but he is a;so young and still learning. Anyone who watched hm last season, can't have failed to notice the improvement under Warnock.

The boo'ers were in a very small minority of the crowd, mainly from a few in the upper and lower loft, at which i found myself moaning at them to shut the phark up, and Adel re'acted to them which was a shame.
I moved away from Ellerslie cos of perpetual moaners behind me.
We do seem to have more than a fair share of em.They seek him here.................

If Warnock can remove this from his game then in my mind this could potentially be one of the best bits of business this club has done in a very long time.

It seems that some people will only see what they want to see and make it fit an agenda.
Taarabt will not stop being petulant or passionate, same as Cantona never did.
But he will achieve legendary status and be remembered as a footballing genius -- I just hope it's with us.
Oh, and as for the 'myth' about him not passing -- he had improved enormously in looking for the pass; he never passes to someone who we all know will waste it; and the likes of Greaves and Bowles rarely passed the ball either.
But overall players like that assist and score far more than they waste.Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

Originally posted by BennyBoyRs View PostMy honest opinion of Adel is that he is a big, sulky baby when things aren't going his way. I feel he believe's that he's better than he is, which can be both a good and a bad trait. He can also be too greedy at times as he'll try one to many tricks, when he should be giving the ball to a player in space, much more early than he'd like. Also, he can be frustrated by a defensive midfielder (as we saw with Savage) who just get's at him and doesn't allow him the room to do his stuff. I also feel that at times, he does have a bad attitude, but he is still very young. My attitude at his age was massively arrogant, and if I had a tallent similar to Adel's, I'd have been far worse, that's for sure.
Those are his bad points. Every player has them. Adel needs to be managed properly, and made to feel loved. Warnock gives him that and seems to have a way of keeping Adel's feet firmly on the ground. Adel also has many plus points. Easilly the most skillful player in the CCC. Possibly the most confident player in the league as far as belief in his own ability goes. The lad is a match winner and has the ability to make even the most average of teams look good, at this level. He can score great goals, both in open play, and from set-pieces. He's still young and sculpting his game, which is also a bonus as he'll only get better. With 7 caps and 3 goals for his national side at this stage of his career to add to his portfolio, he's clearly got a future in this sport.
Lot's of pro's and con's, but I find it hard to believe that this lad is not a top signing. He'll go far as long as he stays level headed and listens to his manager.
Thought I pick one post here from Benny because you balance the argument well and we all know there are few cons to signing Taarabt otherwise he wouldn't be the subject of much debate the way he has been. I think we as fans know that as Conners rightly highlighted have the best man manager in the division, this is why signing Taarabt makes so much sense.
I think in honour of all those negative fans I'm going to get a No. 7 new home shirt and have 'TWO BALL' printed on the back once everything is officialLast edited by W12_Ranger; 03-08-2010, 03:46 PM.

Very good posts W12, I do like it when you steer clear of the "other subject", it is so much more positive and refreshing to read.
It's also quite evident that almost everyone is in agreement with you on this one and quite rightly so in my opinion.
Potentially, the best signing made by our club since Stan Bowles should it happen, although clearly he has a long way to progress to achieve that level. However, with the right manager which it seems he will have and the fact that he will be "our" player and not someone constantly on the look out for a move away from a team who aren't prepared to give him the opportunity, he will be a much different player this season. I for one cannot wait to see him back, playing the sort of football he is capable of.
And if the price quoted is to be believed, then it's an even better deal than it first appears.
