My son's first match

Getting really excited about the new season now, especially as my 3 year old son wants to come to the match with me on Saturday. It makes me very proud that he wants to see the Rangers with his dad, especially since his mum and grandad were Leicester City season ticket holders up until a couple of years ago.

Not sure he will be able to sit still for a couple of hours though, but as kids under 8 go free its definately worth a try. Has anyone else taken their kids at 3 years old before? Any tips?

I took my 6 year old for the first time against Newcastle last season.

Take plenty to eat and drink, and go with someone who can take him to the toilet while you watch the footie!

I took him in the club shop before, bought him stuff, so he had could relate to it all. Bribery really!!

Expensive day, but thoroughly worth it. I'm taking him and my 4 year old daughter to Barnsley, she'll love Sparks. Just hope it's a game with goals and a bit of atmosphere this time.

IMHO 3 years old is way to young and not fair on the kid. Ok the benefit is you will get him in for free but my dad took me to my 1st game also at 6. I was gutted as I remember kicking up a fuss at 5 but it stood me in good stead. I would say the noise might frightened the little chap but we haven't had an atmosphere for a while. Wait a few years so he can appreciate it mate.

I've got two grandaughters aged 2 and 3 and can't wait to take them to LR they both love football, only problem is, their dad is an Everton fan, but he's never seen them play so if I can get him along aswell it will really boost the attendance and you never know we may be playing them next year anyway.

I took my 41/2 year old to Hampton and Richmond on saturday as a kind of dry run, whilst he enjoyed it we changed seats three or four times, and I had to stuff him full of sweets. Not ready yet (celebrated when Hampton scored) imho probably needs another year, I will try for LR on boxing day, and see how we go then.

Get to club shop early if you can before it gets crowded.

Take plenty to drink, Suncream, it may be hot Saturday. Maybe a comic or toy for half time? Take to toilet at 2.45ish. Take a camera incase you see Spark or any random players wandering around.

I think i went to my first game when i was about 4, everyone is different he may get scared he may love it... Id say just take him while he wants to go!
