I went with my dad when I was 4. Just enjoy it because spending time with your kid as well as enjoying the footy is a win win situation. I've often wondered if I would have got on as well with my dad if it weren't for QPR.

Took my son at the age of 3 to the Fulham friendly a few season back (Cook played for them), Anyway he loved it and still got the photos on his bedroom wall. Since then he has been to 30 odd games with me or his grandad and he has not seen us lose once. He now has his 1st season ticket so lets hope the no lose policey remains:pleasantsuprise::pleasantsuprise::pleasant suprise:

Thanks guys for the encouragement and advice. I have now booked my tickets from the box office and its off to Tesco beforehand to stock up on comics and treats. I usually get to the ground really early....1.30ish, but I think I'll take him to a playground first and go in just before kick off. I think there is a playground not far from the Springbok or have i made that up?

        Role on Saturday.

I was gutted as I remember kicking up a fuss at 5 but it stood me in good stead. I would say the noise might frightened the little chap but we haven't had an atmosphere for a while. Wait a few years so he can appreciate it mate.
i remember u saying something like this before on someone elses post a while back.

dont listen to him m8 or anyone else thinking of taking their young'uns, i been taking my boys since my youngest was 3 and they both love coming. ok they get a bit bored when the game is stuck in midfield, but so do I and as do the majority of the crowd. they love it when we score and do the "do,do, do-do hoops" etc. and then when they at home playing football u hear them argue about who is gonna be taarabt or jay simpson etc lol its what its all about.

Thanks for finding that thread mate! I done another one a day or so later reporting on how the day went, if you could find that it would be a big help too?

took my boy on couple days after 3rd birthday last season vs s****horpe. He absolutely loved it. Met Stan Bowles in Springbok before game, got a pic and an autographed beermat, now both in frames in his bedroom. Little tip: i bought a disposable camera from club shop n it seemd to do the trick, when his mind began to wander, gave him camera n he took pics of players n pitch (some good ones lol). He even got to watch the protests against flabio after game but when started to get ugly obviously was out the way pretty sharpish. Only way you know is by taking em, but m y boy is already football mad, and especially QPR mad, which makes me proud as punch. His fave player, in his own words is..... poozaky!!! lol

good luck mate, and do post to say how u got on.

Took my son when he was three years old against Colchester on new years day. We won one nil and Ray Jones scored.

He then came regularly with me after that and I must say it was difficult at times as his concentration used to wonder during matches and when we scored he sometimes found it to noisy.

However he is now seven years old and is Rangers mad and would go berserk if I went without him.

Hopefully gonna spend a few quid and get him as mascot for one game this season.

                    Good luck on Saturday!

Not sure he will be able to sit still for a couple of hours though, but as kids under 8 go free its definately worth a try. Has anyone else taken their kids at 3 years old before? Any tips?
Here is the link to the mini report I done for my sons first rangers game if it's any help
