Walters Wants Town Exit

Town captain Jon Walters is reported to have asked for a transfer. The 26-year-old has been tipped for a move away from Portman Road all summer with QPR and Stoke both linked.
The former Republic of Ireland B international, who played the full 90 minutes against West Ham yesterday, is said to have made the request but is yet to formally put it in writing.
A fortnight ago, QPR were reported to have had an offer turned down by the Blues. The fee was claimed to be £2.5 million, although more recent suggestions that the bid was just over £1 million appear more realistic.
Stoke have been eyeing the striker-turned-midfielder since 2008 and were again mentioned in connection with a move last week.
Walters joined the Blues from Chester City for a fee of £100,000 plus top-ups, which would ultimately take the deal to £200,000, in January 2007.
Meanwhile, Swansea sent a scout to watch the Blues take on West Ham at Portman Road yesterday. Swans manager Brendan Rodgers is believed to be interested in Blues striker Tamás Priskin, who played under him at Watford. Rodgers is believed to have made a £400,000 initial offer to test the water.
Blues boss Roy Keane is not looking to sell Priskin and has been impressed with him in pre-season, even if the Hungarian international is yet to score.

* imo great news, although he could've said it a few weeks ago!
* hope its not true but if it is cash in him now and get chops!
* exactly, we bought him for 100,000 and i would guess a sell on clause and any other add ons will not happen anymore as chester are no longer. if he wants out then get him out as soon as possible. who do we want for skipper then? my choice would be leadbitter i think.
* Jon Walters has done very well for us, last season not so great. If certain prem teams want him, I can see point why he wants a move. Think he was given too much responsibility at times for us ...
* Agreed. I hope he goes. Has been a massive under achiever,on top wages as well. God I hope its true.
* Get rid of him, cash on him and get Chopra. Shouldn't be in the team the way he has performed last season where he has completely lost his pace and effort when he first joined us.
* Oh well never mind.
One season wonder, So no real loss if he were to go.
* Whilst I'm not overly uncomfortable to see him go I'd just temper it with a little caution by insisting that we have a couple of players come in before he's allowed to leave, one of which must be a striker.
* Could be a blessing in disguise of Walters leave, we'll have to come up with a new tactic to play football, rather than hoof up to Walters!
* Enjoy your reserve footy wherever you go Walters
