Most people realise that this is not the 1980's and 1-11 means bug ger all these days.

Please just drop it because its not the most exciting debate, just my opinion.
Rather listen to Sirpie write a well constructed argument than listen to your boring, repetitive posts.

As our squad stands, Clarke is given a "starting" shirt on the basis that he is ahead of German, Rose and Agyemang in the current pecking order. Helguson likewise. May be different next season.

Del think you need to calm down!

I am not questioning sirpie, infact he is a very good poster and a damn site better than both of us. You are the king of boring but getting back to my point I just think its not worth getting so involved in a squad number debate.

Ok get back to your stamp collection Del, and its a shame you aren't as funny as your name sake
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

But do you believe Mackie is a striker and if so isn't he above Clarke in the pecking order? Or even if he isn't a striker in the traditional sense shouldn't he be given a "starting" shirt because he is likely to start?

I dont think i'm funny. You think your all high and mighty for some reason, another example is you told russranger on another thread that he could only post one question, even though it said you could ask questions (plural). And king of boring? Not really, but I think most people would listen to people like me who make a contribution to the board and not you who just moan and talk about how you got a refund on your season ticket.

To be honest I'd rather have a proper debate on this subject than have another why haven't we signed a striker thread. That's just my personal opinion. I'd rather talk about a subject which people clearly have opposing views then to speculate on the same thing for the umpteenth time.

                Found the reason

"The club shop has had an issue where the boxes containing twos and sevens for shirt printing were destroyed in a flood. To prevent disappointment Neil Warnock has made a point of giving popular players numbers outside of these two. Queens Park Rangers would like to apologise for the distress and anguish caused to many poeple without social lives crying on message boards"

Personally think Mackie is better than Clarke but regarded - rightly or wrongly - as more of a winger, a traditional Number 7 shirt. Think we may have another winger lined up who may start ahead of Mackie which would explain why Mackie is given a 12 shirt IMO.

The only number that has any significance at QPR is the number 10 and the right player has that!! All the rest are meaningless

Add to all this the fact that some players prefer certain numbers and it all gets even more irrelevant -- Furlong wanted to keep 29, even when he was offered 9, Cook seems to love 17 and Hogan was given a low number last season but asked to keep 25 -- as he has this season.
I wonder if Connolly requested 16 again -- when he must be higher up the pecking order that that (I hope!)
And, at the risk of worm-can-opening, Camp (who was clearly never in with a chance of being first choice) was no. 1 last season, whilst Cerny was (and still is) 24. Kenny no. 1, but if Cerny gets the nod over him I wouldn't be surprised.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

Damn you to hell for you clear headed logical thinking. Where is the undertone, the conspiracy and fantasy? You will never be the next JK Rowling.
