Rome was not built in a day and you are so impatient.

Ive been waiting since Paul Furlong left in 2006. Is that really impatient?

That is so true and was the last person at W12 worthy to wear a No 9 shirt.

PS: I think Mackie will surprise a few this yer.

          It's a complete joke isn't it.

Everyone who has been going to LR for the last few years can see our major problem is upfront. Yet we have not had a dangerous forward for years. WHY can't the powers that be see this? It is so bleeding obvious. Drives me mad.

I don't think anyone here disagrees we need a good striker. I still think we had one in Dex, and my opinion won't change there. All I'm saying is that I'm confident we'll sign a decent forward by the start of the season. I have no idea who, but I just feel we will.

I mustg admit I was impressed with Mackie against us and picked him out, so im sure he will create and score a few.

Why is it that we have needed a decent left and right back and centre forward for nearly 4 years yet nothing has been done??

Warnock has clearly said he wants to bring in two strikers. I imagine he is trying hard to bring in who he wants.

                    quality!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

So If Blackstock isn't a good striker IYO then who is at this level?

Sir pie I don't want to go down this road mate.

                        Just voicing an opinion.

                        Blackstock is shite IMHO.

The latter stages watching him down LR was painful, blame the management or whatever but he was just not doing it.

We need a physical presence like a Paul Furlong, Blackstock was definately NOT that kind of striker. He could fall over in a gentle breeze.

Scotland should be our main target but I think his wages are the main problem but definately proven to be a handful at this level.

Trust me I'm not looking for an argument or anything - never have or will be that kind of poster - but who do you think has the quality?

Arguably Scotland hasn't cut it in the Premiership so can't be regarded as a Premiership striker and neither can Ebanks-Blake both I believe are better than Blackstock but I believe Blackstock is better than the likes of Vine, Agyemang, Pellicori, Helguson and Clarke. I've said all summer that we need a quartet of strikers and Blackstock would have been a far better option either from the start or coming off the bench than those mentioned above. It seems that we are now trying to sign players that we already had - why do we need McAnuff when we already had Routledge? Why do we need Clarke when we had Blackstock?

Blackstock is the same as Simpson, they both do enough to get by but for what ever reason, they cant push on to the top run of the striker ladder. Both are not what we need as we will more than likely create the most chances in the CCC next season and we need someone like Scotland or Beatie who can use a bit of braun to finish a few more of the chances we create.

                              A very good question.

If you ask the (Italian) powers that be at our club, a 'good striker' is one who is more respectful off the pitch and if Dex wasn't a 'good boy' off the pitch, he wouldn't have been offloaded without Paulo Sousa's agreement. Who knows, if Dex had showed more respect, Sousa could have completed his job and got us up! Probably not though with the Italians STILL around...:yush:
