Why if you are ITK its best to say nothing!!

A few weeks ago i was told by a friend(reliable one as well ) that he was at Loftus road the day before Derry signed,he bumped into Derry and Ambrose in South Africa road and was told by both that they had signed.
My first thoughts were to grab some thunder and announce it all over the message boards but a niggling voice in my head stopped me.
The moral of this story is dont believe a word of what anyone tells you untill it is announced on the offy.

It did me no harm with Mackie and Clarke, and the McAnuff rumour seems to have some ground too. Even his info regarding Speroni not signing was good.

Ok, he was wrong on Lee Hughes, but so what? I don't understand why people are shy to share info. It really doesn't bother me if someone wants to wind me up about being wrong. It's just passing on info you've heard to your fellow fans.

Not true, this was nailed on from the first whisper and it was never denied there was contact with QPR FC. Warnock never said he was not leaving, he always said he needed his future sorting out and at a meeting with Guilfoyle he said there may be new owners and he may not be the chosen manager. That was the final straw he played his replay and away game with CP, said his farewells and rode into the sunset.

This Mcanuff rumor has the all the hallmarks of the Hooper offer last year when GP said he offered £1,000,000 for him, but he forgot to tell their chairman.

Good post, but I disagree. I can understand why you feel you made the right decision not to say anything, but message boards, and particularly football message boards thrive on rumour.

In this case you could have said something along the lines of..."Don't know how true this is but bumped in to a mate yesterday who reckons he saw Derry and Ambrose and they told him they had signed".

I.E. as long as a rumour is presented as a rumour and not as a nailed on fact then it is up to us as the reader to choose whether to believe it or not. Also, as long as the rumour is not presented as fact we shouldn't shoot the messenger if the rumour turns out not to be true.

Some of the best banter on the site has been based around rumour threads.

i dont think anyone on the whole planet knew what was happening with ambrose including ambrose and his mum.
even our assistant manager was still saying he was signing on monday. so dont beat yourself up on getting that one wrong mate.
