His wife uses a London stable for her horse and has said that she really wants to stay in London and that he has had talks with us and we have put a good offer on the table. He would like to hold out for a Premier team, but it needs to be within a commute to London, if this does not happen he will be joining us........

Here is the rub for me. We would gamble on someone like Aliadiere (and a whole host of other failures) who have hardly set the world alight, but we wont take a gamble on Adam Le Fondre, Charlie Austin, Adam Lallana or Rickie Lambert who have.
PS: I can't wait to see Beckford and Cox get their first Premier league goals as I remember all the so called 'knowledgeable' people who said they were league one players, they would come with attitude and a huge gamble not worth the fee etc, etc.

He's not yet scored 15 league goals in his entire career. We've got Clarke as a target man, Mackie for pace, energy and assists (I think he's going to have a fantastic career with us) and now we're crying out for a natural finisher. I'm an optemist and try to remain upbeat, but I fail to see where Aliadiere adds anything to our current strikeforce?
It just doesn't look good to me.Your mum would love me...

We've learned that we will not be spending millions on anybody. We will also not be competing for signings with other clubs. Aliadiere is on a free (i think), has played at the top level and is about the best we can hope for. He's got to better than what we have right?

you're all missing the point big time here.
IF we sign Jermaine Alialidere, we get to sing the Bon Jovi chant for him:
"Woooooooooooooooooah, we're half way there, Woah, Alialidere..."
and that my friends, more than makes up for how gash he is...RUN, MWEPU, RUN! CHARGE FORTH AND BOOT THAT BALL DOWNFIELD MY BOY, YOU MAGNIFICENT CHAMPION YOU!
