You used to get value for your season ticket, maybe 4-5 free games? this season I for the first time will probably not get one, as I will miss one game in September, that means I break even...

Plus on the last 4 years i've had £3.50 charges on my away season ticket, which adds up to at least £200 over the last 4 years and loyal points which mean't nothing.

    Thats why many are disilluisioned

Pete, we lost a lot of st holders when the club raised prices in the Bill Power era.........flab came along and compounded it.

The thing that indicates things are going on behind the scenes is that back in May, Warnock was telling anyone that would listen how much he was looking forward to bringing in his players and that comically he put down Ishan when asked about the budget, giving all fans the impression rightly or wrongly that money will be spent.

I made the point that I believe we have the right manager because he can get the best of very average players and whilst no-where near the likes of Clough he tends to show the same theory in bringing in players he knows and trusts. take Ambrose for example, now its obvious we were after him, yet Palace win the day by offering him 13k a week and a 3 year contract and we cannot compete with that?

We are 10 days away from the start of the season and whilst we will probably bring 2-3 players, we know now that millions won't be spent. Its a catch 22 situation as we are in the championship, but so many fans from other clubs do not understand our under investment in the club and with a little more thought and marketing this great club could thrive, but most are disillusioned.

The big saving grace is that whilst many other clubs are going to the wall or on the brink of financial ruin, we have rich backers who will prevent that from happening, though it does seem that someones hands are tied as this particular dawn of major shareholders taking over certainly promised more than its delivered, a fact bourne out by the low season ticket holder numbers.

Maybe we should accept for a club our size that being a stable championship side is the very best we can hope for and to a degree we are punching above our weight in this modern age of football
Brilliant post Pete and very well put.

I am going on holiday and will miss the 1st 2 fixtures.

The fact that I would rather go on holiday, tells its own story!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

True, but it was on the back of promotion.

The same without a doubt would happen again, if we found ourselves promoted to the premiership

If you remember then, the club reduced prices as they have done now, as now it was too late those fans were lost.

Many would say we wouldn't sell out, but you only have to look at Blackpool next season and see what happens.

Any club that gets promoted to the premiership in their first season games are almost sell outs, it levels itself out in the second season.

With our current stadium, we would get sell outs week in week out.

Football has changed so much in the last 15 years, if anyone makes comparisons.

really, even bolton or wigan if they fell on a tuesday night?
i reckon we would only garuntee a sell out against the big four and maybe one or two others like the ***s and west ham.

                        Scarlet thats a big IF.

When you get posts of could Helguson be our saviour and Borrowdale being a decent left back and our number 1 left back who runs like he's moving in slow motion and a league 1 strike force with a brilliant midfield you have to look at why we have the same issue's each year. Our squad is pants.

                          G.T.P

As I say many keep viewing football as if we were playing 20 years ago, football is an enormous global brand now.

Certainly in ur first season in the premiership games against Bolton and Wigan will be sell outs, as it might be the only games certain supporters could go to, because of the sell outs in the other so called big games
