Webber??? 1 goal in the Premiership last season, 4 in the CCC before that just 3 the season before that. ACL injuries as well. Career to date he has scored 1 in 5 and although he is still only 28 his injuries mean that he is actually about 30-31 in footballing terms and has missed his prime.

And then there is Stead (*cough BaseSoccer) 8 goals last year and 12 the year before that. Younger and fitter than both Webber and Henderson and can play the Henderson role. I personally think he would be a very good signing.

Because if you read the official they are great for morale and they give us both character and leadership which is something we've lacked for the past couple of seasons. Warnock obviously felt that this is an area that we severely lacked in. As I've just said on another thread teams like Blackpool get promoted not because they have 20+ season strikers or stars in their side but because of unity. Derry and Hill will give us exactly that as well as allowing the so called flair players the freedom to play.

Big if but if the thread about Orr is true and those about McAnuff and Ambrose are also true will they have all signed on a free?

Cardiff had big name players last year as did Forest but neither got promoted so you don't need to go out and spend silly money. Spending doesn't guarantee promotion.

I've always thought Stead should do better, think he's a good footballer who goes missing in games. I would go for Webber, a bit of a gamble i know, but under warnock who knows, remember Kazim-Richards under Warnock ?

stead for 250k is worth the gamble imo.
