  • The legend Gary Bannister

    50 today

I always remember the guy scoring goals within the first minute and banging them in for fun against Chels**t.

Great on the plastic pitch too.

Happy Birthday to a true Super hoop

Top top player and got me very interested in being a QPR fan.

Not in the Sir Les catorgory but up there with the best!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

My favourite Rangers player. Scored 2 along with a Wayne Fereday goal in my first R's game against Nottingham Forest.... Was deadly up front with John Byrne..Good times on the plastic pitch, Guinness shirts on......

Was that game 1985-86 season at LR. I'm sure I was at that game too.

Have a good one Gary! My favourite in the mid 80`s. Got a signed photo him when I was a kid which I was very proud of. Was very sad when he left us.

Party like an animal, it´s your day

A fantastic player, one of the best
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

Very good player. Was it really true he had one leg shorter than the other we will continue to wonder!

I guess we will wait a while till we have another striker that scores a hat trick against Chelsea. Shame about that Milk Cup final (though not his fault). That era (with Byrne and Fereday running the wings) was a fine time to be an R.

Not really related, but the talk of the Forest games around then reminded me of Johnny Byrne's goal in the earlier round of the Milk Cup. A true blinder. Little teaser for those old enough to remember and have been at that......... who can recall what was odd about that game, or more precisely when it was played? No prizes apart from demonstrating true Rangers credentials!
