Have to admit that despite of - or because of - the opposition, we are doing pretty well in these games, scoring shed loads of goals and conceding few.
Other teams in our league have been losing some to teams of a lesser status or under performing.
Whilst these results we have may mean nothing and may not even come close to being a true indicator of how a team's season will pan out, I think what can be seen is we seem to be playing with confidence to pass the ball around, even on dodgy pitches and stamina to not only play two games or three games a week but to take the game to opposition and score late goals - seldom did that last season - Even given that some of the opposition were amateurs and would naturally tire easier than our athletes.
The form of Hogan seems to have improved and so has his confidence and Josh Parker is now on everyone's radar so maybe - even taking the level of opposition into account - it hasn't been as bad as some think and has been a useful exercise in terms of fitness and confidence and having players who actually want to work for each other and systems that suit that.
On top of that, unlike last year, the deadwood of Agyemang, Vine, Pellicori etc are nowhere near the team suggesting their time may be up here. Whether we can shift them is another matter but it don't look like they'll be putting on a rangers shirt anytime soon.
Not bigging our pre-season up, just saying I think it has been more useful than some.
