I've been "following" for 2 years, now--stuck in a ruthless c..try called America for another year. I was born here, however, and I won't try to defend my interests or loyalties--what's the point?
There are wonderful analysts, and there are those who have first hand accounts...and they aren't necessarily the same people.
But starting to categorize, and "divide", those of us creates an "us and them" mentality--dangerously elitist, or too much like kids fighting over their toys.

To be a supporter, I think you have to go to matches, even if it's only once or twice a season. Following via TV or the Internet isn't the same.

Have to agree
There does seem to be a divide at the moment.Dyslexic so please don't feel the need to correct my spelling mistakes as I really don't give a **** and before you say use spell checker if it is spelt right / wright but not in context spell check is useless

:anger:
Dear oh dear IMO another clanger of a thread Pete. I am currently in London, I've been done to HQ last week even in spite of the fact that there is not much going on, to revisit a place very close to my heart - a team I've supported for over 25 years now. To suggest that my opinion is worth less than other supporters smacks of egoism/self importance. If you want to have a dig at Report that is fine - but be a bit more honest and not disguise it (badly) in a thread such as this. If you are having a dig at a wider group of supporters who live overseas perceived as troublemakers then perhaps if you answered questions posed to you then there would be less animosity on the site/directed at you.
A deeply disturbing thread.
:bad_egg:
PS Not that I expect a reply from you Pete - you seem to have a way of avoiding certain posts!Last edited by QPRMendoza; 11-05-2009, 08:27 AM.

In the 90's lived in the US for 2 years but came back to the UK every month and tried to make it coincide with a QPR home game. I saw approx 10 home games each season and still retained my season ticket (my Dad used it when I couldn't). That's what I call supporting the club.
As I said at the start, we can agree to disagree on this. Thats what a message board is about.
However, I do think this thread was designed to wind up Report more than anything else.

I think to be a true fan or supporter you must go to every single match home and away. You should attend every fans meeting and end of season functions(ala POTY)
Then the importance of that fan should be based on match appearances. The fan that can only be bothered to go to the odd match here or there, due ill health, working , playing football at reasonable level or just cannot afford to go to matches, should really have no input whatsoever in commenting on how QPR are playing and what direction they should be heading,
Fans(phhh) that live abroad shouldnt even have any input whatsover. They chose to leave this country and have better life elsewhere, why should have have any interest in what happens back at thir old home. How dare they even try to follow or have ideas about QPR.Whats worse is they are spreading the name of QPR to other "foreign supporters" We dont need them go away .
We need 100% commited fans only.We all know that fans that attend all games are the most knowledgeable about a> Footbal b> QPR
And if you follow from the states - you should be ashamed.

Damn Flavio and his whole global brand idea, doesn't he realise he is destroying it for us loyal fans?
(PS can I suggest you turn the sarcasm down a bit. It is going to go right over the heads of some on here.)A message to the other Premier League clubs when they visit Loftus Road.....
"NUESTRA GLORIA, VUESTRO INFIERNO"
(If you don't understand it, then learn Spanish. It is the language of world football.....)

Personally I think this is a nasty little thread attempting to dig out a particular poster.
Maybe we should clarify it even further and say that anybody sitting in South Africa Road has a more valid opinion than say someone in Q block since the view is better and they are better able to analyse the game.
Especially if they are not banging a drum and singing songs about northerners being inbred.
