a mate of mine who lives in melbourne sits down and reads every report in the british papers and judges that way.he also listens to every commentary.i send him as many video clips as i can so he can put the words into pictures so to speak.he's a lot more informed than some of the so called fans who live here and never go,health and money reasons considered of course.
what the hell was god thinking of when he thought of hamsters?

How can someone who did not go that game, give an opinion? Surely, its being given to them?

Its like giving an opinion for example on a film? if you've seen it and if you've not, opinion will differ?
True, but if u ask ten people going to the same game they probably have ten different opinions. Some of em the same as the guy who watches 2-3 games/year. Question is, doesn´t everyone have the right to have an opinion?
Isn´t it up to readers of the msb to use their own thinking regarding what they agree with or not?

I do agree with you but I would believe someone who went to see the game rather than the person who didn't but that's just me.

We have visits from over 60 countries on this website and that's the reason we try to film as much as we can, to keep them updated.

              Don't think anyone's questioning that.

I'm guessing its about giving "opinions". You will say what you've seen, he cannot do that back?

Does not make anyone more or less a supporter/fan.

But, giving an opinion about on and off the field matters?

So for argument's sake let us assume that right now I am a mere follower.
Some people who had grown up supporting QPR then left Britain and have not been back for years, someone like me on the other hand feels being right at home and that feeling becomes stronger with my every visit, it goes beyond QPR, I simply love being in Shephers Bush. So should such an expat and me be both deemed as followers?
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

"try to be instrumental in giving opinions"

Pete what are you trying to say, how can someone be "instrumental in giving opinions"

anyone can have an opinion, judging by the postings i would say many on this site dont go to games regardless of whether they live in the uk or abroad.

I do think people should think before posting and only post if they have a point to make but that would significantly reduce the number of posts on this and other boards.

                    couple of examples

Deleaney was **** today (should only be posted by someone who saw the game)

We should not have spend 10000 quid on a lampshade (valid point that could be made by anyone regadless of how long it has been since visiting LR)

I find that this is generally applied by posters so dont see a major problem.

Overseas fans have every right to give their opinions on on-field matters.Team selection, choice of manager and so on.Just because we are in a position to attend more matches than them does not give us the right to have a bigger say regarding on-field matters.

Off-field matters are slightly different.Things like ticket prices, stadium facilities and so on should only be brought to the clubs attention by those of us that attend matches. We are the ones who it affects, not someone who cannot attend matches. And that applys to the armchair fans we have in this country as well.

Well, its true its not the same watching on payTV. Arguably, sports like F1, snooker, cricket are games you can follow better on TV than in person. But football...well, you just don't get to see things like movement, or lack of it, of players off the ball etc. But...when I come over its always on the credit cards (gulp), always during the season to get 2-3 games in. And the internet and my QPR following mates keep me updated one way or another. One was over in February, brought me over several programmes/QPR calendar etc.for example.

So... we still care (I know I care more than one of my mates who has been a season-ticket holder for over 30 years and has just renewed--I've just got off the phone from discussing Rangers with him), why shouldn't we try to influence opinion on the club we love? Not that I think anything I've ever posted has made any difference (unfortunately). If ever I do move back it will only be because I miss Rangers too much. Maybe its different with Report....I do have to wonder if it really is true that if he lives in the USA and hasn't been over since the 60s to watch a game what his reasons are. Perhaps if they are not very good reasons then maybe he gets too much respect from some people. But I certainly consider myself a supporter and a follower of the club, regardless of what anyone else thinks. I sometimes disagree with Pete, Report and many, if not most, other regular posters and think I have a perfect right to do so.

Just because I live in Australia doesn't automatically make my views less valuable than anyone elses, but to get an overall picture it probably (but not always) helps if you get to many more games than I get to. I can't argue generally with that.

Everyone has a right to an opinion I served with her Majesty's Army back in the 90s, I would have hated to be told by someone that because i could not go to games my opinions did not count or for that matter i was a follower not a fan.
I still work for her Majesty in a different capacity now, and due to this still cant get to a lot of games which is one of the reasons i am not a season ticket holder, which brings me to another point some people seem to think they are more important than others becouse they are season ticket holders in my opinion we are Qpr family one and all so where ever you are from, language you speak colour of your skin, season ticket or not, every game home and away or once every 10 years i dont care you are a fan of Qpr and that's all that counts (we share the pain and the joy).

Ps fans that live abroad should be seen as ambasadors to the club by other fans and the club itself

yeah, people living abroad should shut up and leave the real opinions to the movers and shakers and most importantly to the ORACLE that is Q (ha ha) Block (oh god, ha ha ha) Pete (oh deary me). you really are an ego out of control son.
