What Centre Back Partnership Would You Go For?

Hall is a much better centre back and would be my choice over Stewart, infact I would sell Stewart. Disagree with Pete I thought he looked fat in the pre season game and also Helguson looks lardy. Saying all that my 1st choice pairing would be Connolly who I think ozzes class and has composure on the ball something we have a real lack of when you look at our other centre back and I would also Play Ramage alongside him. Ramage is not a right back but infact a very decent centre back and he proved that when given a chance. Oh and Gorkks overrated IMHO, decent in the air but too slow.

To be honest I know funky is a good pal of mine but not to sure why he doesn't post anymore on here - maybe something went on not to sure thou.

Hall aint our worst centre back, imo his half decent. Just dont need people jumping on the lets hate hall bandwaggon because he dresses different and drives a ferrari.

Nothing to do with that at all Robbo. He's s**t, and that's my opinion. Couldn't give a f**k if he drives an ice cream van, wears a turbin and kisses his teeth in a gangstaar way at every kid who approaches him, the guy cannot defend in this league. Weirdly enough, he's not a bad Prem CB, yet he can't do it in the CCC.

He's better than Stewart, that's for sure. Rambo, Gorkss and Connolly are comfortably our best three CB's. I'm a big fan of Gorkss, but he was caught out on several ocassions last season, whereas Rambo looked solid at CB.

For that reason, Connolly is the main CB, with Rambo as his partner.

Again, just my $0.02 worth.

Interesting the majority go for the slowest partnership, IMHO you can't (unless you are going to play hoofball) get away with a central defensive partnership that has no pace, they end up playing ten yards deeper and either the midfield drops deeper and the forwards get isolated, the midfield holds its line and theres load of space between the midfield and the defence for the opposition midifeld to play, or the defence holds a high line and we are extrememly vunerable to the ball over the top or behind the centre halves.

For that reason for me its Stewart + 1 probably Gorks

Rambo is an old fasioned CB. He'll win headers all day and is a big lump. Connolly is very much like a CB in the mould of Adams. No pace, so for that reason he has to read the game. He does that very well.

Stew Peas is a shocking defender, so I'm shocked you'd even consider him. It's all about opinions I guess.

Gorkks and Connolly all day long

It's not an easy question to answer which in itself is worrying... I would say Connolly for definite, and probably Ramage. Conners is our best player there, and the future... Ramage is physical, looked good last season there (very good in fact) and is probably less error prone than Gorkss, who for me is a great passer but also not that great in the air week in, week out. Conners has some pace I'd play him as the one who attacks the ball less...

In all the best teams though, you KNOW your best pairing...
