  • This Is Why I Hate Footballers...

    From BBC website:

Didier Drogba's agent has revealed he is in talks with Manchester City over the Chelsea striker making a £20m move to Eastlands.

I know we all hate Drogba and Chelsea....but Chelsea winning title and being in Champions league again...what guarantee moving to man City will there be with them qualifying for the Champions league next season.

Hence - it's all about the bloody money.Could this be a stumbling block at QPR re getting strikers in??( I know that is a stupid question by the way !!)

the club are vehemently denying it.

Manchester City have rubbished claims by Didier Drogba's agent that the club have been in contact. Thierno Seydi suggested that Drogba could leave Stamford Bridge.

I suppose it could be agents talking to bump up his next wage demands.

F...k me i suppose it must be hard to live on £100+ per week.

Just like Joe Cole's move to Luckypool.

I've always respected Joey, but the bloke has just gone down in my estimations. Challenge, my ####. It's all about the pound notes now.

          Just 20 million?
          Definitely not true then.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

Its always about money now, when you can court the fees these boys are on there's no loyalty, i agree its probably agents doing there dirty to help Drogba with new wage demands.

If someone offered you a job paying more then your current job would you go?

In all fairness, It's very different. Being offered a few grand a year more, of course you'd have to think, but the money this lot earn now, £20...Jesus, even £50k per week more is still pennies as they'll always be super rich. Nothing they can't afford.

Joe Cole is a sell out. Great footballer who should be playing in the CL. Greedy tw@t.

Totally - of course,- in the real world where a couple of thousand a year would actually help/improve one's lifestyle(just) - but an extra 40 grand for footballers???

Just more money for them to waste on snort / women / nightclubs / cars / houses /hoildays / casinos betting / prostitutes/ - actually - ok see your point.

But seriously - footballers are so overpaid these days and I'm really refering to the top end of market, they have so much money, they don't know how to use it . So answer to your question.....no...shows no ambition all about the money.

Even in real life....its all about the money...very rarely do people stay loyal to their employers if offered a tadge more greenbaks

So if they paid Chelsea £9M for him and paid Cole £42,269 a week, that would be ok ?

to be fair to him benny lets say Liverpool are offering 100k a week, and say spuds 60k a week & CL footy.

If I was him I would also go liverpool. Spurs may not even be good enough to qualify for the CL looking at the teams who also have to qualify. so I would look at it like this:

                        100k a week
One of the biggest teams in the world
                        playing for the kop
Gerrard & Torers in my team
                        Most succsesful english club

Now apart from MAYBE CL footy what can attract me to spurs?

The prospects of playing in Champions League with Spurs.
Liverpool may well have been one of the most successful teams, but even with Torres and gerrard they failed to qualify last term. There are no guarantees in football these days, who is to say that Liverpool will qualify for next season champions league?

                          £3,120,000.00 x 3 years = £9mill (take of tax) V £15 mill....

What the f...are they going to spend that extra 6 mill on...poor souls...

Buy a house get couple of cars and then try investing the rest.....Robert Fowler did.

They don't have to lose it all on the bookies beacuse the poor souls are bored. They could just do the gardening, take kids out for walk......

Its all about the ££££ and rightly so. If I was on 50k a wk & the offer came in for £75k a week I would only have 1 word to say CHEERIO

Short careers, Cole has won a lot in the domestic game fancies a change of scenery, new start, regular starter. No brainer. Personally I think Arsenal would of been a perfect move for him but Liverpool Football Club is hardly a bad place to ply your trade..

See this is spot on and JC's decision is not all about money.
Potentially, in going to Spurs he gets to play 1 round of CL qualifying football.
Liverpool with Woy in charge will straighten their ship and almost certainly qualify again for CL next season. Their record in the comp is impressive and I reckon this year was a blip irrespective of who was in charge.

So add all of those bits Nodge mentioned, account for Spurs lasting 1 round this season and not qualifying again next season and the fact they already have Modric playing the role JC is best suited to IMO, and it is clear why JC would go to Liverpool.
Remember, he has signed a 4 year deal not a 1 game CL qualifying round deal and has massive chances of achieving with Liverpool compared to at Spurs.
