Base or no Base, would be a fantastic signing. Yes Derbyshire should be playing for a lower mid-table Premiership side, but then no one came in for him before he went to Greece either and, being off the radar as he is currently, I think most clubs would see him as something of a gamble.

If we acted quickly, put a firm offer and offered him a good wage and guaranteed first team football I reckon he'd seriously consider us... don't think he wants to hang around there.

Dont sound as if he was cutting it in the greek league, dont know what the standard of their league is, so prehaps prem clubs may be a little shy in signing him.

Olympiakos fans love him. Not sure why he'd even consider coming back to England unless it's a family thing. If he did come back it'd be with a mid level PL team (eg Birmingham)
