I think when most see it, they will relise it was a tonge in cheek statement. Lets be honest if any other club had signed the players we have, they would not be joint favs to win the league now would they.
My personal highlight was when he was asked about the England set up bringing in an English coach....... No comment said Neil, gave it 30 seconds then had a Dig...... Just love that man! Would start a row in an empty room. Just ask Leicester!!!!!

Rev's wife, you are right he did say he is going fro promotion this year.

I'm sure though he still surprised with us being favorites with the likes of Forrest, Middlesborough, Hull and Burnley in our league, who have all spent considerably more money that us.

Like I said earlier I think he'd much rather distance himself from that type of expectation and get on with the job quietly. I'm sure he has expectations of play offs but not favourites to win the league unless hes about to blow 6 - 8 mill on new talent.

I think Warnock's a realist and knows with the squad we have atm and with a few more additions we will be in the mix up and have a great chance of getting those play offs like 10 or 12 teams will have.

Warnock is Brilliant, the way he handles himself, with the media and just his attitude, he says all the right things and is honest. He is exactly what we need and he is helping rebuild are team. After the few years we just been through this guy is so pivitol in us getting back on our feet and rebuilding the relationship between the club and fans.
Dont expect things over night guys but we are on the right tracks and lets all just get behind QPR and give them the backing they need.
Totally agree! Top post. His mind games are the reason why when he wasn't our boss he was so hated. Now hes our manager these tricks are fantastic to see.

I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

It certainly does. What he said when he got appointed was a statement of intent, as they say

I think Maidstone should change his name to Voice Of Reason.

Oh, hang about, I think we've got one of those already - if he is still here...? I lose track.

                    Top post (again).

The problem or many fans is that QPR do not look to have an outstanding squad and do not look like automatic promotion candidates.

At best, QPR will be competing for a play-off place with 10-12 other teams. And that is the problem. Beciase it could mean QPR spending a large part of the season hovering between 7th and 14th trying to break into the top 6 to get a chance at the play-off lottery.

But with billionaire owners, it could all be so different, QPR could have signed Taarabt, Hooper, Boyd, Bailey and had a better chance of the top two, but have got Mackie, Hill, Derry & Clarke and instead will aim to sneak a play-off place.
