  • New user/ Chris Eagles

Hi guys, new user to the site. Like most people who are new, have been following the site for ages, but never signed up until now.

I'm QPR through and through and love my and our club dearly. I'm happy with Neil in charge and I'm optimistic for the future and the upcoming season.

I for one are happy with the signings of Derry, Hill and mackie. I feel the two crystal palace boys will add heart and steel and a bit of grit to our squad which has been lacking. I also feel mackie could be a real coup for us.

I'm not worried atm about the lack of signings as it's still July and we have right up to the 31st August and Neil has already stated he know we need a new striker and ideally two.

Interesting to me though is the Mcanuff bid. Don't Know if it's got any creditability, but reports say we have bid 1.5 mill and are to renew are interest in him once again.

To me though there is potentially available a much better winger in Chris Eagles at Burnley and according to sky sports a bid of 1.3 million was accepted by them from rangers who he eventually turned down to join.
This player has flair, can go past defenders a engine and can create and score goals, he has ! year left on his contract at Burnley and brian laws has left him out in the cold from their tour. I know a striker is the most important target for us atm but surely if we are willing to pay 1.5 mill + for mcanuff, eagles would be a coup for 1.3 mill???

Anyway sorry for the essay, but glad to be registered to the site and look forward to the debates, banter and thoughts of my fellow RRRRR'sssss.

The difference is, Eagles will be looking at a bigger club than us.

Cheers W10. In response to bennyboyRs, I honestly believe if we showed are intention and ambition we would have half a chance. This is the type of deals we should be looking at, 1.3 mill is a snitch, same could be said with Hooper, 2 mill for a proven striker, we should be in for these type of players.

Welcome aboard and a sensible start.

For a minute, reading that, I thought you were me... Then I realised I don't live in Maidstone.

Having already played in a side that's won promotion to the Prem' a move to Rs would just be backwards career-wise for Eagles. He's real class & I'd love him at LR but he'd have his sights set on either a prem club or top side elsewhere ie Scotland/Europe. We need to spot gems like Eagles in Championship clubs if we're to have any chance of signing them.

                    Welcome.

As benny said, I think we have more chance of Eddie the eagle signing then Chris Eagles.

Had and have enough of the Eagles here already.

Someone had to say it. I'll get my coat.

PedalR, to be honest I agree with what you are saying, and Eagles is prob just out of league - Having said that he's clearly not in laws plans for what ever reason atm and even a cheeky attempt would show intention to the supporters, weather or not realistic.
Maybe a player like Boyd from peterborough would be more realistic. Personally if we are going to spend 1.5 mill on a player I'd like to see it go on someone under 25.
