  • Missing the point

I think a lot of our fans are missing the point with what is now happening at Rangers.

Firstly we have a manager that the majority of us trust, I think we would all agree he is his own man and will not take any crap from above.

When he took over we were going to get relegated.

He got the players playing as a team and we ended up 11th.

With a few signings, and the players we already had we are a top six side. Just look at the form tables from when he took over.

Players dont just become crap overnight, the way they are asked to play does not suit them, or they dont play well for certain managers but thy dont just become crap players.

If anyone can get the best out of our squad im confident we already have the man.

If Mr Warnock is as good as I have been led to believe then having Fitz Hall, Heider Helguson and the others back will be like having new players. He will ship some of them out, but dont be surprised if one or two of them come good under his leadership.

Players dont just become good overnight either. Warnock is a football manager, not an eff-ing magician.

Yeah I agree with that though we do need someone like adel or macnuff I think. I think we could all be surprised at hall this year.

Dont believe all you read, The papers link us with all sorts of players, wish we had got half of them...

He looks at dozens of videos of foreign players, as well as loads of uk based players.

Clarke from Sheff Wed was bought in because of his size and Warnock believes he can use his physical presence in certain games when we are ineffective up front due to strong defenders.

Yes some of are players are poor, but wait and see what they are like when fit and with Warnock pushing them on

What , he'll go on a run of a few games, that will be the surprise and then get injured for the umpteenth time.
Opinions are like A******s, everyone has one, but nobody wants to see the other guy's.

So this essentially boils down to the "in warnock we trust" philosophy again. Fine. I think he is a good manager and I am sure we all want him to do wonderfully well. Why wouldn't we after all. I have faith in him and he is better than the others we had last year. OK.

I think the creeping concern, however, (for me anyway) is that the squad is now worse (so citing those end season form tables is meaningless for example). We all must agree we struggled for goals last year. And now we have shipped out Simpsons and Tarabts contribution to that already poor tally (and we lost Routledge mid way) so we are going to struggle even more in front of goal. Even if we accept that Warnock can improve all players' performance the worry is the tools he has to start with will leave us still well short of the place we all want to be.

I don't understand all this doom and gloom in the middle of July. We have a good basis of a squad.
The transfer window is open for another 6 weeks and I'm sure warnock is doing his best to secure some more signings. Fact of the matter is these things take a while.
We have signed some good players I don't care if you disagree but I really believe Derry and Hill will become vital parts in our squad. Both will bring passion, determination and never give up attitude to our squad, whats wrong with that. You blend that in with talent like Buzz and faurlin and add a striker your half way there.
Also if Hall was good enough for Newcastle, we should be giving him a chance.
Amit and the guys behind the scenes are trying to run the club the right way now, not pay silly wages not pay over the odds on transfer fees. Put in place youth development.
This will all benefit QPR long term. I dont see how eople are moaning in mid July and I really feel alot of people under estimate the squad we already have.

biggest worry which people are missing.. like them or not..

routledge, taarabt and simpson.. they scored a large percentage of our goals. and were pivotal in us staying up.

now they are gone. and in reality.. i dont see clarke, mackie and derry accumulating the goals that they scored.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
                    Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

Gary - exactly. I was trying to make the ame point but you do it more pithily. The numbers prove that point exactly,. I'm no Statto or Sirpie (and I don't have any ref material with me) but from memory we scored 58 in total last year and we have lost the scorers of pushing half of those goals. And replaced them with next to nothing to inspire - Clarke (8 goals) and Mackie (not really a striker anyway but his was 6 wasn't it). On that you have to believe we will struggle. Or hope that there is someone much much better coming. Warnock aint got the raw tools with this lot.
