    ...season ticket holders so far.

Slowed down to snail pace now.

And i can't see a couple of good strikers getting us past 7500.

the problem with spin, as new Labour discovered, is sooner or later you have to deliver. you can't fool all the people all the time.

Honestly think 95%+ of serious renewers would have done so at the early bird price.

I think many claiming 'to be waiting on signings' are probably not serious about by one anyway.Just using that as an excuse to themselves why they ain't renewed.

dont know whether its an excuse as such Stan, don't think they have to explain themelves to anyone. Just think its general disillusionment. And being late in the day now think it wd need to be even better players now to get the fan base excited again.

Even if the board had signed all the players we wanted I still don't think it would have healed the damage between the fanbase and the club immediately, and certainly not to the degree they were looking for this summer.

It will be a long and slow process - and it's doubtful whether it's even begun yet, to tell the truth.

Getting in Palarse free over 30 year olds hasn't helped.

Those that get a ST every season have pretty much done that now. The floaters who might get one if we get quality players in are still waiting and even if we do get some quality in will probably still carry on waiting. Our fan base is very fickle at the end of the day and many seem to expect the Mittals to put their hands in their pockets, because they can, but are not prepared to do so themselves, when they can.

                      'Our fans are fickle', apparently.

I don't think our fans are any more or less fickle than other teams. At the end of the day a lot of people spend a large proportion of their disposable income on a season ticket. The year we got 10k+ fans showed how 'unfickle' they are and proved their loyalty despite the price hike. If the owners had kept to their side of the bargain, we might be in Notts Forest's position, if not West Brom's. I'm going to university next year but I would have been very tempted to get a season ticket anyway if it represented a true saving and if the owners had showed intent. They haven't, and as consequence I'll go to significantly more away games than home games, causing a loss in QPR's revenue. Some fans criticise others so much which is totally unjustified and despite all that's said I'm not going to feel like a 'glory hunter' or a 'unloyal, fickle fan' simply because I choose to go to just pompey away next year instead of pompey at home and maybe pompey away.

The Mittals were not in charge last season, Flavio was. So why are you 'happy' to give your money to other clubs but not to QPR ?

I have had a ST for many years and felt let down by Flavio but I am still prepared to back the Mittals as apart from not getting in a couple of quality strikers yet, have kept their part of the bargain.

'apart from not getting in a couple of quality strikers yet'

I think that's the key part in that. We have strengtherned in other positions where freebies have sufficed, but to be honest I don't think our midfield needed to be addressed that badly. Improvements in defense have been sparse, and could be argued to be worsening with the return of Hall.
Our fans haven't really asked for that much considering. If I was a kid and promised a new bike for christmas, and they bought me new handlebars, I wouldn't be too chuffed. I have always been an ardent QPR fan and I didn't ask for them to promise promotion and the like, they offered it, so they should either put up or shut up.

In my opinion the underlying argument is this obsession with either being a pessimist, or being someone who attacks pessimists as not being loyal fans. I, like everyone else here, would not love our club so much if we didn't experience the years of close unity and togetherness in fighting for a goal, whether it was promotion, a relegation fight or even to keep our club afloat full stop. I don't even think my dad remembers a time in which rangers fans were so divided. So for christ sakes can we please not have constant moaning at those fans who have been left depressed by the recent years, instead try and do something productive like getting the atmosphere back to the days of Furlong and Bircham when people couldn't wait to renew their season ticket.

You seem to miss the point, the Mittals have not promised the bike, it was Flavio. The Mittals have got in a very decent manager, have allowed him to strengthen in his way. Which includes spending £1m on a goalkeeper and £500k on a forward with more to come according to NW and MJ. Warnock has got in Derry and Hill because he wants a strong team spirit. Warnock is doing it his way. Yet all you do is keep referring back to being let down by QPR, it was Flavio who let us down. Therefore I am prepared to back the Mittals and not blame them for what the lunatic Italian did. And by the way the reason we got 10k season ticket holders was because they were very cheap, too cheap and that is why Bill Power, a lifelong QPR fan, had to put the price up.
