Seriously. Are you incapable of understanding anything?

£5 Million for a young defender who is currently with england u-19's, who will almost certainly play for the England full team.

That would be a bargain for Birmingham.

When you consider the two defenders who left the Championship a while ago for £9m in total, you can put Clyne's potential into perspective.

    • I give up on you

I suppose you made Ashley Cole into a world class player?

      • What i heard was that your acadamy was a big factor for you going into admin, very expensive to keep up for a club in the second tier.

Cost was the reason we gave ours up a long time before you set yours up.

Although it looks like we are looking for a new training ground to re establish one again, dont know how true this is.
        They seek him here.................

No, we set him up for it.

In the same way we are setting Clyne up for it. Obviously, he will hit a wall as to how far he can develop in the Championship (as Cole did). That is when he will need to move. For Clyne, that wall will probably be next season. After that, he'll leave for the Premiership, but he won't go for anything like £1.25 million.

Sky Sports valued him at £4 million for his ability NOW. They valued him as potentially worth £18 million.

You might want to watch how he kept Ashley Young completely in his pocket over BOTH fa-cup games.

          • We no longer need to sell. GET IT INTO YOUR HEADS![/QUOTE]

            You DO NEED to sell.

You always DID NEED to sell.

The problem is that you DIDN'T SELL.

Hence why you keep going into ADMINISTRATION.

If you had sold players and paid your bills like most other clubs do, then apart from making life easier for your unfortunate creditors who admittedly were somewhat foolish to allow a club like Crystal Palace credit, then you would not have gone into administration, and could have held your heads high, albeit from a lower division which is actually the one you would be most suited to based upon your history and financial status.

Even to this day, you are relying on getting the ground "on the cheap" at the expense of others. How you can have any pride in anything at all relating to your club bemuses me completely.

We didn't volunteer to go into Admin, you know that?

We were in debt, because we didn't own our ground. Jordan ****ed up, and told us he owned the ground, when he didn't.

We were paying about £2 Million of rent every season for it.

Eventually, Jordan was falling behind on payments, so he took out a loan from a company called Agilo (The same one that put Land of Leather out of business). This company were actually ruthless loan sharks, and put us into administration when they were worried that they wouldn't get it all back.

In fact, our academy kept us alive during administration. Without it, we'd never have been able to sell our most valuable player; and the club would have folded months before it was saved.

                • All this cr#p about he loves the club,we dont want to sell,we dont need to sell,he aint going nowhere, winds me up,c'mon you know as well as i do that players are not loyal, its a job and a short lived one at that, chairmen are swayed at the money thats put in front of them,i would never, ever rule out players leaving at any club let alone Palace.it's a fact of life and at any time players can leave,so just enjoy them while you have them,no player gives a flying f##k as long as they earn a really good wage,it's only the fans that have an alligiance and we do all like to think that players do as well, but sadly,we all know deep down that isnt the case !!!!

If what you say is true about speroni not wanting to leave and stay at palarse for the rest of his career.

Dont you think for such a good goalkeeper, he shows a serious lack of ambition.

                        I am talking about CURRENTLY.

CURRENTLY, we need to sell nobody.

Every few years, a big player comes along. E.g. Moses, or Andy Johnson.

These players - admin permitting - normally sell for a lot of money.

AJ went for £8.5 Million; Moses would have done similar.

These massive saleskeep our club afloat, and always have done.

To suggest that when we are at our most financially stable point in YEARS, we actually need to SELL our 4 best players - who don't want to leave - to survive is ridiculous. Surely you can see that this would make no business sense?

You tried to get our best player "on the cheap" because we were in Administration. We tried to get the best deal for the club with regards to the ground; which we did. It was a great result for the club.

Are you saying that if there was a mansion on your road for £500, you wouldn't buy it, and you'd actually offer closer to its real value?

                        Of course not.

I think it shows a tremendous amount of loyalty. We built him up from a reserve keeper at Dundee to, in Warnock's own opinion, the best keeper in the Championship.

A loyal person would want to reward that. Honestly, you will never meet a nicer bloke than Speroni. He really is worshipped by Palace fans, because he's not only a great 'keeper, but he really does care about the club.

He's never caught doing things he shouldn't, he's just a normal guy, with an exceptional talent. He's not showing a lack of ambition - he's just got his feet on the ground.

I'm sure if Man United wanted to make him their first choice keeper, he'd go. But for a championship / low prem club? No way.
