Though think genuinely if you have a pants pre-season than its much harder to get to everyone elses level in August

hope we keep Clarke until November - he's so wooden - he'd make a cracking guy on my local bonfire !

Clarke needs time although he should be scoring goals for fun against the dog and donut side we played last night. U could argue why we only scored 8 but it is hard to get motivated against such a poor side, that is why I don't agree with Neil taking them to his holiday home. Just my opinion before I get shot down!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

There's a debate to be had about whether we should be testing ourselves against better pre-season teams.

One team that was not better last year was Southampton. TBH it was a waste of time and money going to Loftus Road. Game was played off usual match pace and it was a stroll in the park for all concerned.

The thing pre-season is about is fostering team togetherness and getting fitness levels up. If the lads are having a relaxing time in the South West, good on them. England's World Cup campaign shows what an unhappy camp can have on team results.

The results from these games - to state the obvious - mean absolutely nothing. Whether it's Man U or Tavistock. Could be an argument to be had about slowly improving the opposition in the run-up to the start of the season. But NW has done this for the last few years and, guess what, I trust him.

What I would like more is to get in these supposed new signings as soon as we can so they can gel with the rest of the squad in training. There are more players coming in, right?

Seems 2 be a difference of opinion here...i listened 2 the commentary of the game, and he seemed to be having a decent game, was involved in a few of the moves that led 2 goals, the commentator also said that he thought his display deserved a goal...i would tend 2 believe what i heard with my own ears, but either way i'll b at torquay on friday, so i'll hopefully be able to make more of a judgement then.

Some people like to dream on this board,he has been crap in the past and there is no reason to suggest he will be any different with us,im glad he was crap last night,it might convince the board to spend on a decent striker
