Jams mate this is not meant to knock you, as you know I have stuck up for you on several occasions on here but I know you are a young guy and purely for your own good I wd just like to put to you that you might be being a bit naive in all of this. And I speak as one who as a QPR fan has known his share of disappointments. Whatever managers/ chairmen say - be they Palace, be they Rangers - you have to learn to decipher. People who could work out what the Soviets really meant were called "Kremlinologists", it was their full time job, and so with internet football fans. In short, football high ups say what fans want to hear. Of course they say a club's best players are not for sale, partly for macho football reasons but mainly to bump up the price. A few years ago our then chairman said Lee Cook would only leave the club for £5m. A week later he went for £1.8. As he was always going to. If anything it was probably more than he was worth and we were broke. I'm really not that fussed about Ambrose. He would be a good addition to our squd but given a choice would prefer Clyne - who we aren't in for - and wouldn't want to sign Ambrose at the expense of Buzacky not getting in the team as I think the latter is a more naturally gifted player (just my opinion).

All I'm saying is don't assume anything, certainly don't gloat, as that report in the Mirror tonight reminds us virtually anything cd still happen. Whether there are any fans left of either club who really gives much of a monkeys by then is a different matter, certainly I don't think many Rangers fans will lose much sleep over this. No one has disputed that Pete. £750k is a fair price too for a player with 1 year left on his contract. He won't have another season like he had last season though and it looks like he won't being joining us so can we not just move on.

He scored an incredible amount of goals and thats what our squad needs goals.

U could add our strike force and midfield and still not compete with ambrose.

I get a ruddy great daily rate where I work, I really like the people who I work with and the stuff I do but if someone offered me £100 a day more than what I get, to do the same job I love in the same industry need I go on. Jules: GEORGE Burley insists Palace fans favourite Julian Speroni is going nowhere.

The Eagles have been linked with a move for former Ipswich, Arsenal and Everton stopper Richard Wright but Burley has firmly ruled that out.

He insists that Speroni will be his number one next season and that he is only looking for a keeper to come in as the Argentinian's understudy.

"I haven't spoken to Richard," said Burley. "We're only looking for a number two and I don't think he would be interested in coming as number two.

"Julian Speroni is very much a Crystal Palace player. I know there has been speculation about a possible transfer but I haven't heard anything."

So sorry mate, but I have to dispell this myth that seems to be on here. And why do you think that we are not as financially stable as we think, as you said in a post I earlier quoted?

I too remember the same thing at the end of last season, palace fans quoting the same thing about Warnock and that he confirmed it, but it happened didn't it so don't believe everything you hear or read.

As i said on the other thread, a ridicolous story, about 5 weeks out of date.

I think im inclined to listen to what George Burley and our new owners have to say on our players futures compared to a National Paper who is looking to fill columns without doing any proper research or getting actual quotes!

Show me then where there is any proof to this story from the Mirror? i don't see any quotes and certainly no basis to go on especially considering what we have read and been told by our local paper who cover the club in more detail.

No, i don't actually speak to George Burley but i do know one of the investors included in the new consortium so think i can take what he says as word of mouth as he also has said the same as Burley, Ambrose new contract offer soon to be signed and Clyne here for at least another 12 months unless as i said before any silly offers are made for these players in the mean time.

If you choose to belive the story more what it is in a national paper to just fill column space then thats upto you.

Seriously fella, if someone come in for Clyne like Arsenal say for £1 million and Palace turned it down, Clyne would simply request a transfer and be offski ASAP. You are really are off your head. THOUGH I will say this won't happen because Clyne isn't good enough. Clubs likely to be interested in him would be the likes of Newcastle, West Brom, Blackpool, Wigan, Wet Spam, Wolves and other clubs fighting it out at the wrong end of the Premiership.

Oh the irony - Thread title = Ambrose saga at an end and this is post number 135 on this thread alone.

Still no news yet some are still content to say nailed on he's going or he's staying!!
