His strength is running the channels (not the English channel!). He could work in a 3-man forward line, probably down the right, where he can scare defenders. Whenever I see him, he always tries hard and closes down excellently, if he can do that consistently, and take full-backs out of the game then he could do a job at times.
I think Helguson is the one to prove his doubters wrong.

Shame we always buy players whom any manager is unable to improve. Its incredible how unlucky we have been with all the donkeys we've ended up with and none of them has been able up their game under any of the managers we've had over the past season or so. You would think one of the twelve could have got a response from just one of them.
I think its best not to buy any more players just in case they turn out like the one's we've got. How can you trust past performance? Let's play it safe and save our money because I don't think its the manager's job to improve players judging on what's happened over the last couple of years.
If it was we'd have had even more managers.

Pat is strong and at times can beat his man but we have no end product, can Neil get something out of him?

Paddy imo can hold the ball up but thats about all he does. He rarely releases the ball to one of his team mates, he deffo doesn't head the ball. Apparently he is on a high wage possibly one of the highest so unless NW sees him fitting in and playing regular he should be released or farmed out again. I would use him as part exchange for a decent striker if that was possible.I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

I'm more inclined to believe Briatore thought he was sigining a better standard of footballer on the bad advice of Paladini and handed out 4 year contracts. Then no doubt it was never the Teflon Dons fault when it never worked out it was always the Manager for not getting the best out of players and subsequent sackings took place.
