  • Agyemang's Position

Not going to defend the guy. We all know he got off to a flying start and then went down hill very rapidly and has largely flattered to deceive despite being given numerous chances. Pretty sure he knows that too.

Also, doesn't appear to have the appetite for some games and just drifts around aimlessly or refuses to chase. So, all in all, pretty disappointing that we have a guy getting well paid so well for so little return and with a bit of an attitude by all accounts.

However, and here is the "what if?" bit...

What if Warnock has a different role lined up for him? Instead of just lumbering around aimlessly up front.

What if he wants him as a big lumbering ox of a target man? A sort of battering ram to distract defenders whilst a little forward nicks all the goals? Or as a bloke who can hold the ball up and lay it off or get knock downs for others. A kind of Emile Heskey?

We know Warnock teams like to lump it so what if he is man to lump it to (The Lumpee") instead of Hulse or Stead? On the plus side, over those two, he does have pace.

Not saying he will do this but it might be an option he is considering to get the best out of this player. Managers bring their own systems and adapt players accordingly to fit in with them. He might try it before deciding to get rid. Personally, think it might be worth a go.

Don't know how many times you have seen Ageymang play but I have never seen him win a header, so as for winning knock downs or acting as a target man, tell me this thread was just a wind up.

Agyemang is the only player i have ever seen who actually gets shorter when he jumps. if you ever have the misfortune to see him play again, watch how when he leaps, he also simultaneously crouches and hunches down in mid-air - it's actually quite a talent.

Agyemang's only value to the team (and i use the term 'value' very loosely here...) is to come on as an impact sub with 15 minute to go. not to score goals, because he won't, but because he's big and can run a bit, he can pull tired defenders to one side to allow the people that can on occasion score goals a bit of an easier time. he's actually semi-effective at this part of the game, just don't let him anywhere near the ball, and never with more than 15-20 minutes to go...

...although this is probably not the best use of a 10k a week in wages...

Spot on... He is ok at best for 10-15 minutes at the end of a game, simply to be a fresh body on the pitch.
If anyone thinks he can be anything else, well I give up!

He's also never had Warnock as a manager before. A guy who plays his full backs as centre halves at Palace.

Not saying it will happen, not saying it should happen and I personally thing Agyemang should go but what I am saying is with Warnock anything is possible. And especially if no one wants to take him off the wage bill then we are stuck with him and have to use him somehow as all other methods have failed.

This whole topic is why I find it incredible how people can defend Gianni.

I understand it with Pete as they are mates and it is right to stick up for your mates but how anyone else can dismiss all these mistakes is shocking.

What I don't understand is the mittals knew about all the coc k ups Gianni made, when signing these players on long over paid contracts.

They must realise that they have to cut there losses and still spend if they want to take this club forward. Why would you buy a club if you are only willing to spend if you can get rid of all the sh ite that has been signed over the last 4-5 season by Gianni.

I guess he isn't in that position anymore and they felt that Gianni was good as a salesman but he has been a very lucky boy to of got away with so many mistakes.

We know Aygemang isn't good enough, our mistake was to loan him out because now Bristol City also realise he is not good enough. The mittals have to accept we have a shower of sh it in the squad and spend on quality in future.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

              weareqpr12,

What you don't seem to understand is that not all signings will work, I'm sure the 5 we have got, one will fail? If every signing worked we would be mid-table in the premiership.

nothing to do with being mates and I've not defended the signings of Agyemang, Hall or even Helgusson, thoough the last 2 done much better when they moved out on loan, its not inconcevable they would do better under Warnock?

It wouldn't be so funny if it wasn't so true.

The least a professional footballer should be able to do IMO is use both feet and head an ball properly, the stuff you learn when you are a kid.

U have forgotten his italian connection **** ups Pellicori and 'the nose' who has been sitting around collecting his wage slip.

U can't say 1 in 5 gianni has made a mess of bringing in players on silly contracts.

We are still trying to recover but it seems to have destroyed any transfer budget.

Pellicori left ages ago, as for Alberti we all know Sousa saw some talent in him and played him, future managers haven't taken to him. thats all

His position is best suited to the transfer list.

Pete - unfortunately, football is now big business.

I see that we only offered Hill (32) a 2 year contract, which is what i consider a good deal.Fans don't overly rate him but neil does. But, if it doesn't work out, or dare I say it,if we go up in two years)-then he is not tied to us wages wise.

I can understand the logic in offering promising youngsters longer deals...Faurlin Connolly - so, keeping talent at the club but also not missing out if we need to cash in.

But signing players that are late in their career, journey men etc....on a 5 year deal is a big business boo boo.

We appear to be bleeding wages on 2-3 players that are not good enough for this league, probably wont playa big part in our team - and no other club will touch with a barge pole.

For me - in charge of a business - i would challenge the person who made those deals, as he would be losing the club loads of money with no end product.( In fact - if he worked for me - I would sack them)
