i remember that day met up at the squirrel pub in stevenage perry arranged a coach and we went up from there

can remember people bringing gym bags full of stella on the coach and having to put it all in the luggage bay at the service station as we had a police escort on the way in

and we stopped every 10 mins on the way back for **** stops at the side of the motorway

In the home end. I was 13 then and dont remember hardly anything! (apart from the thugs sitting around us!)

Managed to get a hold of 4 first class tickets for £30 to go up there, and we managed to get to a boozer near Hillsborough by around 12.30. The pub was full of Rangers, but strangely silent as we thought about the potential of the 90 mins ahead.

At 0-0, Bristol scored and some of their lot celebrated as though Wednesday themselves had scored. At that time, Brizzle were up and we were in third place. Then Gallen scored. The away end goes absolutely mental. It's in our hands again.

The second half flew by, and at 3-1, the chaps next me had tears in their eyes. The final whistle blew, and the whole away end was a blue and white mass of hugging, cheering fandom.

An hour or so later, and the train on the way back was rammed full of Rangers fans. The first class cabin broke out the words "Ian Holloway's having a party, get out the rizla and charlie!" and didn't stop singing for hours on end. People standing on platforms at the train rolled past decided not to bother getting on. Fans leaving at spots like Leicester were waved off like conquering heroes.

And then, onto King's Cross Station. The old station's had pretty good acoustics for cheering fans on the way out, but this time, it was almost deafening. We all managed to pile onto a tube going for Hammersmith, and the party got louder and more inebriated.

We arrived at the Bushranger for a few drinks after the game and there was a mass of humanity in Shepherd's Bush, celebrating the promotion. I chatted to two lads, saying: "Did you go the game? I did!" So did they, it turned out - their mate drove to London from Sheffield averaging about 100 mph!! They were already on their second beer when we arrived!!

One of the best days of my life - can't wait for more soon!

Had to watch it on the jumbo screen. Frigging great party after the game and once you lot had got back down to west london though!

I was there, lower tier. Olly came over to the fans as the lads warmed up before the game. I hugged him and said to him, you're a legend. The atmosphere we generated was electrifing, was especially pulsating and ecstatic each time we scored. At 2-1, nervy times and palputations galore but all in all was the best away game i went to. It was out of order flashing the Brizzle score though.

but

although i only go to three or four games a season that game i really wanted to go to but at that time couldnt get a ticket
so listened on the radio and loved the atmoshere but when i bought the special double video it was so lovely watching holloway doing his dance
and i also missed the walk to the town hall i would have loved to go on that walk but thats life you cant have everything
